Suishenma: Shanghai's city code to access varied social services

Shanghai is upgrading the standards of its city-level Shanghai QR code, or Suishenma, which has been used as a colored health code for COVID-19, to cover a wider category and optimize daily life services.
The applications may include disabled people's parking, hospital queuing and net café registration in the future.
The city code system can be easily accessed and used everywhere in the city, said Shanghai Big Data Center, the developer of the code. Currently, the Shanghai QR code, with millions of resident users, is widely used as a one-stop for services in hospital, transportation, culture and tourism and urban management.
Local residents use the code for taking buses, Metro and ferries, as well as for seeing a doctor and paying medical bills at public hospitals across the city. They can also check their vaccination records and nucleic acid testing reports.
How to use Shanghai QR code

Shanghai QR code or Suishenma can be generated through three channels: Alipay, WeChat and Suishenban (随申办) app.

Click on the mini-program named "随申办 (Suishenban)."
Click on "随申码 (Suishenma)" on the homepage to obtain the QR code.
WeChat 微信

Click on the mini-program "随申办 (Suishenban)."
Click on "随申码 (Suishenma)" on the homepage to obtain the QR code.
In case you encounter any issues, look for the "+" symbol in the upper right corner and tap it. Select "English" to get access to the international version.

Open the app and navigate to the homepage. Look for the "+" symbol in the upper right corner and tap it. Select "English" as your preferred service language.
If this is your first time using the app, you'll need to register. Follow the prompts and provide your passport information as required. In case you encounter any issues during the registration process, click on the "help." Scroll down to find a detailed guide on how to complete the registration process successfully.
Once registered, log in and navigate to the homepage. Click on "随申码 (Suishenma)" to obtain the QR code.
