时间回到7月23日，在男子400米自由泳决赛中，孙杨以3分41秒38夺冠，实力碾压“宿敌”霍顿，实现世锦赛该项目的三连冠！

值得关注的是，在赛后领奖时，冠军孙杨表现大度，主动与曾多次污蔑自己的对手霍顿握手，此举甚至一度登上国内社交媒体的热搜榜↓

不过对于这次握手，霍顿似乎颇为尴尬，他说“那更像是手臂的较量”。

Sun Yang was gracious following his 400m freestyle victory at the world championships on Sunday as he took revenge over Olympic champion Mack Horton.

上周日（7月23日），孙杨在世锦赛获得400米自由泳冠军后表现得很有风度，实现了对该项目奥运会冠军马克·霍顿的复仇。

Sun clocked 3min 41.38sec, finishing 2.47 seconds ahead of second-placed Horton, who had previously dubbed his rival a dope cheat prior to beating the Chinese superstar at the Rio de Janeiro Games. Sun enjoyed sweet revenge at the Duna Arena and splashed the water, giving a triumphant roar, when he touched the wall first.

But despite taking revenge after his long-standing war of words with Horton, Sun was gracious towards his rival.

虽然在和霍顿长期的口水战后实现复仇，但孙杨对竞争对手依然展现出了风度。

“A long time has passed since Rio, we both got stressed, we both calmed down,” said Sun, “I made a renewed effort in my training, especially in the last half year. I believe in this event, I will keep doing better and better and so will he.”

“里约奥运会已经过去很长时间了，这件事给我俩的压力都很大，我们也都冷静了下来”，孙杨说，“我又重新投入了训练，特别是在下半年。我相信在这场比赛中，我会表现得越来越好，他也一样。”

Horton, 21, planted the seed for a rivalry for the ages when he dismissed Sun as a 'drug cheat' before upsetting the defending champ to take gold on his Olympic debut at Brazil's Rio Games last year.

Horton even had another chop before the world titles began, saying his clash with Sun was a 'rivalry between clean athletes and athletes who have tested positive'.

Chinese swimming fans flooded Horton's personal social media accounts with insults after the loss, calling the Australian swimmer “disgusting”, “racist” and “a loser”.

The bombardment of abuse from trolls online bore an eerie resemblance to the attention Horton received after calling out Yang during the Rio Olympics.

Horton had dubbed Sun a “drugs cheat” after the Chinese swimmer served a three-month ban in 2014 for testing positive to a stimulant.

In return, Yang supporters hurled abuse at Horton online.

作为回应，孙杨的支持者在网上对霍顿进行了言论反击。

“You are too complacent.” one Chinese fan wrote on Horton's Instagram account.

一位中国泳迷在霍顿的Instagram账号上留言称：“你太骄傲自大了。”

Another said: “You are a loser for a lifetime because of your disrespect and the lose [sic] of the Olympic Spirit and international reputation.”  

另一位网友说：“你这辈子都是个失败者，因为你无礼，配不上奥林匹克精神和国际声誉。”

But Horton bit his tongue after claiming a maiden 400m world titles medal, saying the timesheets - not Sun - bothered him most.

霍顿声称会获得首枚400米世界冠军奖牌，但赛后却保持沉默，称最让他烦恼的是计时成绩，而非孙杨。

Horton clocked three minutes, 43.85 seconds - almost two and a half seconds outside his personal best.

霍顿本次计时成绩为3分43秒85，比他的个人最好成绩多出近2秒半。

Asked if it stung to lose to Sun, Horton said: “I think the time stings a bit more. I tried to be a bit stronger in the front end but I was too soft - I needed to be a bit harder on myself.”

被问及是否为输给孙杨而感到苦恼时，霍顿说：“我觉得计时成绩更让我苦恼。我尽力在人前表现得坚强，但还是太软弱了，需要对自己更加严格。”

Sun refused to rub the win in Horton's face, saying “plenty of water has gone under the bridge” since Rio.

Unlike Rio, Sun dominated the 400m medal race to finish more than two body lengths ahead of Horton and claim his third world 400m crown.

The pair exchanged an awkward handshake on the medal podium that Horton later admitted more resembled an arm wrestle.

'It was entertaining, I think,' Horton laughed, describing their podium moment.
