China's economy ended 2017 on strong footing with a better-than-expected growth rate and improved structure, official data showed Thursday.

The State Council issued a guideline on Monday approving the removal of the line that used to mark the boundary between the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and the rest of the city.
