在中美高层战略对话首场会议上，美方在先致开场白时严重超时，并对中国内外政策无理攻击指责，挑起争端。杨洁篪即席严正回应美方：
我们把你们想得太好了，我们认为你们会遵守基本的外交礼节。所以我们刚才必须阐明我们的立场。我现在讲一句，你们没有资格在中国的面前说，你们从实力的地位出发，同中国谈话。
I think we thought too well of the United States, we thought the US side will follow the necessary diplomatic protocols. So for China, it was necessary that we made our position clear. So let me say here, in front of the Chinese side, the United States does not have the qualification to say that it want to speak to China from a position of strength.
杨洁篪阐明中方有关立场：台湾、香港、新疆都是中国领土不可分割的部分，中方坚决反对美方干涉中国内政行径，并将继续作出坚定回应。美国没有资格居高临下同中国说话，中国人不吃这一套。与中国打交道，就要在相互尊重的基础上进行。历史会证明，对中国采取卡脖子的办法，最后受损的是自己。
China today is not still less what it was 120 years ago.
历史和事实表明，这几个国家想当人权教师爷，但他们根本不配。他们既非圣人，更无实力。希望他们明白，今天的中国不是伊拉克、利比亚，也不是叙利亚，更不是120年前的中国。外国列强架起几门大炮就能打开中国大门的时代已经一去不复返了，几个所谓学者和媒体同官方勾结就能肆无忌惮抹黑攻击中国而不受任何惩罚的日子也一去不复返了。
These a few countries are obsessed with lecturing others on human rights. But facts in the past have proved that they are neither qualified or capable of doing so. We hope they will understand that China today is not the same as Iraq, Libya or Syria, still less what it was 120 years ago. The days when foreign powers could force China to open its doors with cannons are long gone; also gone are the days when several so-called scholars and state media could unscrupulously malign China in collusion without being punished.

They should know better than to bite the hand that feeds them. There is no way to get away with this.
做生意要讲究尊重，一面赚着中国消费者的钱，一面对中国抹黑攻击、损害中国利益。用一句俗话说，“吃着中国的饭，还砸着中国的锅”，天下哪有这样的美事？中国市场始终是开放的。我们欢迎外国企业来华投资兴业，始终为各国企业在华投资创造良好环境。希望有关企业在华经营合法合规，不要沦为某些政治势力的工具，更不要挑战中国民意。
I'd like to stress the importance of respect in doing business. Certain retailers want to smear and attack China and hurt Chinese interests while making profits in the Chinese market. They should know better than to bite the hand that feeds them. There is no way to get away with this. The Chinese market is always open. We welcome foreign companies to operate and invest in China with a sound business environment. We hope they will comply with laws and regulations, refuse to be weaponized by certain political forces, and refrain from testing public opinion in China.

在4月14日举行的外交部例行记者会上，外交部发言人赵立坚针对日本核废水排海一事做出回应，向日方连发三问：
第一，日方真的听到了国内外的质疑和担忧吗？第二，日方此举真的符合国际法吗？第三，日方拟排放的核废水真的符合国际标准吗？
First, has the Japanese side really heard the doubts and concerns at home and abroad? Second, is Japan's move in line with international law? Third, does the nuclear wastewater really conform to international standards?
而至于有日本官员称“这些水喝了也没事”，赵立坚则表示：
日本个别官员称这些水喝了也没事，请他喝了再说。
As for the individual Japanese official's remarks that the water is okay to drink, why doesn't he take a sip first?
China must and will be reunified.
Abiding by the one-China principle is an important part of China-Australia relations. Taiwan is an integral part of China's territory. The Taiwan question is China's internal affair that bears on China's core interests, and brooks no external interference.
汪文斌强调：
中国必须统一，也必然统一。我们愿尽最大努力争取和平统一的前景，但绝不会为任何形式的“台独”分裂活动留下任何空间。希望澳方充分认清台湾问题的高度敏感性，恪守一个中国原则，切实谨言慎行，不向“台独”分裂势力发出任何错误信号，多做有利于台海和平稳定和中澳关系的事。
China must and will be reunified. We are willing to do our best to strive for the prospect of peaceful reunification, but we will never leave any space for "Taiwan independence" separatist activities in any form. It is hoped that the Australian side will fully recognize that the Taiwan question is highly sensitive, abide by the one-China principle, be prudent in its words and deeds, avoid sending any wrong signals to the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, and act in ways beneficial to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and conducive to China-Australian relations.
Basically Australia is telling others to take the medicine when it is sick itself.
澳方把中国描绘成“威权国家”，但自己却以莫须有的理由率先禁止中国企业参与澳5G网络建设，多次打着“国家安全”的幌子否决中国企业赴澳投资，对中国驻澳媒体记者进行任意搜查。澳方声称中方“破坏规则”，但自己却悍然撕毁中澳间的合作协议，肆意破坏两国正常的交流合作。澳方自己得了病，却要让别人吃药，这根本解决不了问题。
The Australian side used the word "authoritarian" to describe China, but it was among the first to ban Chinese companies from its 5G rollout. It has also vetoed time and again Chinese investments under the pretext of "national security" and wantonly searched Chinese journalists in Australia. It accused China of undermining the rules, but again it blatantly torn up cooperative deals with China and disrupted bilateral exchange and cooperation. Basically Australia is telling others to take the medicine when it is sick itself. How can this solve the problem?

It is extremely irresponsible of Japan to opt for sea discharge to cut expenses. It made the wrong decision first and we only protested afterwards. How come it is brazen enough to do the wrong thing, but won't stand others' criticism? The world has long been protesting its decision, but Japanese officials just keep playing dumb. Why, then, are they so miffed by a mere illustration? They should listen to protesters all over the world. The Japanese side should realize its responsibility, fulfill its international obligations, and revoke its wrong decision.

在外交部发言人汪文斌6月2日主持的例行记者会上，有记者提问：最近中国媒体发表了一封中英文公开信，呼吁世卫组织调查美军德特里克堡生物实验室。你对此有何评论？
汪文斌表示：

长期以来，美国一边自诩为“人权楷模”，一边无视自身触目惊心的人权记录，肆无忌惮在人权问题上玩弄双重标准，将人权作为维护自身霸权、干涉他国内政的工具。然而，任何遮羞布都已无法遮住美国作过的恶，历史和现实都已记录下美国侵犯人权的条条罪状。无论是对原住民的大规模种族屠杀，还是全面性、系统性、持续性的种族歧视，无论是挑起阿富汗、伊拉克、叙利亚战争造成数十万人死亡、近千万人流离失所，还是滥施单边强制制裁侵犯他国公民人权，美国人权劣迹可谓是罄竹难书。
The US always boasts of being "a shining example of human rights" but turns a blind eye to its appalling human rights record. It blatantly plays with double standard and uses human rights as a tool to retain hegemony and interfere in other countries' domestic affairs. However, the sins committed by the US can no longer be swept under the carpet. Both history and reality have recorded its human rights violations. From large-scale race massacre against indigenous peoples to prevalent, systemic and persistent racial discrimination, from waging wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, which killed hundreds of thousands and displaced nearly ten million to willfully slapping unilateral coercive sanctions which violate the basic human rights of foreign citizens, the list of notorious human rights violations of the US goes on and on.

As we Chinese often say, people have their own judgment and are sharp-eyed. The so-called ranking makes black look white, and white look black, and perhaps it will call the dead alive. They will only be shrugged off by people around the world and offer something for small talk.
Why can't origins study be conducted in the US just as in China?
对此，赵立坚在7月19日外交部例行记者会上表示：
这些民众、媒体自发的行动，实际是问出了国际社会长期无法得到回答的问题，而美方一些人始终讳莫如深。请美方回答几个问题：德特里克堡生物实验室同“电子烟疾病”等不明原因呼吸系统疾病到底有何关联？美方为何至今还不邀请世卫组织赴美彻查德堡？在溯源问题上，中国去得，美国为什么去不得？美方应展现透明，有问必答，回应外界关切。
These actions initiated by the public and media in fact have raised those questions long hovering over the mind of all, which the US has kept in dark. Here are questions for the US to answer: What is the link between Fort Detrick and the unexplained outbreaks of respiratory disease including EVALI? Why hasn't the US invited the WHO in for an investigation into Fort Detrick? Why can't origins study be conducted in the US just as in China? The US should show transparency and tell as much as they know about all the questions and respond to the concerns of the outside world.

根本没有资格加入联合国
As a province of China, Taiwan is not qualified to join the UN at all.
针对台湾个别政治人物多次“投书”外国媒体，刻意歪曲联大第2758号决议，外交部发言人赵立坚10月12日在例行记者会上说，“台湾作为中国的一个省，根本没有资格加入联合国。”
1971年通过的联大第2758号决议已经从政治上、法律上和程序上彻底解决了中国在联合国的代表权问题。联合国系统、各专门机构和联合国秘书处任何涉及台湾的事务均应遵循一个中国原则和联大第2758号决议。台湾作为中国的一个省，根本没有资格加入联合国。多年来的实践充分表明，联合国和广大会员国均承认世界上只有一个中国、台湾是中国领土不可分割的一部分，充分尊重中国对台湾行使主权。
Resolution 2758 adopted by the General Assembly in 1971 has solved once and for all the issue of China's representation in the UN in political, legal and procedural terms. The system, agencies and the Secretariat of the UN should abide by the one-China principle and UNGA Resolution 2758 when dealing with Taiwan-related affairs. As a province of China, Taiwan is not qualified to join the UN at all. Practice over the years fully shows that the UN and the vast number of its member states recognize that there is only one China in the world and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, and they fully respect China's exercise of sovereignty over Taiwan.
Do not stand on the opposite side of the 1.4 billion people.
在涉及中国主权和领土完整等核心利益问题上，中方没有任何妥协退让的余地。任何人不要低估中国人民捍卫国家主权和领土完整的坚强决心、坚定意志和强大能力，不要站在十四亿中国人的对立面。我们敦促美方在台湾问题上谨言慎行，不向台独分裂势力发出任何错误信号，以免严重损害中美关系和台海和平稳定。
On issues that bear on China's sovereignty, territorial integrity and other core interests, no one shall expect China to make any compromise or trade-offs. No one should underestimate the resolve, the will and the ability of the Chinese people to defend their national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Do not stand on the opposite side of the 1.4 billion people. We urge the US to earnestly abide by the one-China principle and stipulations in the three China-US joint communiques, be prudent with its words and actions on the Taiwan question, and avoid sending wrong signals to the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, lest it should seriously damage China-US relations and peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.

The US should abide by the one-China principle and stipulations in the three China-US Joint Communiqués, adhere to its solemn political commitments made upon the establishment of diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, stop instigating disputes and confrontation, and avoid sending wrong signals to “Taiwan independence” separatist forces. We would also like to admonish the Lithuanian side that being a cat’s paw for some major country will only end up getting itself burnt.
In fact, no one would care whether they come or not.
自美国白宫于当地时间12月6日宣布“外交抵制”北京冬奥会后，澳大利亚也“紧随其后”跟风美国，澳总理莫里森于当地时间12月8日宣布，澳大利亚将不派官员出席北京冬奥会。
对此，外交部发言人汪文斌12月8日回应记者提问表示：
中方多次重申，冬奥会不是政治作秀和搞政治操弄的舞台。中方没有邀请任何澳大利亚政府官员出席北京冬奥会。他们来或者不来，没有人会在意。澳方政客出于政治私利作秀炒作，对北京成功举办冬奥会不会有任何影响。
We have reiterated many times that the Winter Olympic Games is not a stage for political posturing and manipulation. China hasn’t invited any Australian government official to attend the Beijing Winter Olympics. In fact, no one would care whether they come or not, and Australian politicians’ political stunt for selfish gains has no impact whatsoever on the Olympics to be successfully held by Beijing.
