Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday stressed efforts to promote the healthy and all-round development of children and extended festive greetings to children across the country ahead of the International Children's Day which falls on June 1. Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks in a congratulatory letter to the China National Children's Center over the 40th anniversary of its founding.

Shanghai will fully restore production and daily life will return to normal starting on Wednesday, the city government announced on Tuesday. Shopping malls, supermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies and produce markets will restore offline business in accordance with epidemic control protocols, noted Zong Ming, vice-mayor of Shanghai, during a press briefing.

5月31日，上海市副市长宗明在新闻发布会上宣布，6月1日起，上海全面恢复全市正常生产生活秩序阶段。购物中心、超市卖场、便利店、药店等商业网点有序恢复线下营业，农贸市场有序恢复。

With the last dead body found on Tuesday morning, all the 22 bodies left by a crashed Nepali passenger plane have been recovered, the Nepal Army said.

Twenty-seven-year-old Chinese director Chen Jianying won the Golden Palm Award for Short Film with The Water Murmurs at the 75th Cannes Film Festival on Saturday.

The 15-minute film, featuring Annabel Yao as lead female character, was produced by Chinese studio Tian Hao Entertainment, which was dipping its toe in the short film waters for the first time. The film is set in a riverside town and takes place as a meteorite is about to hit the Earth and trigger the eruption of underwater volcanoes. As citizens flee the town fearing the risk of floods, the main character Niannian decides to bid farewell to her childhood friend the day before her departure. As she encounters people on the road, her memories connected to this small town grow clearer.

A white lion in a China Zoo has become an internet hit over its unique hairstyle.

Pictures of the resident lion at the Guangzhou Zoo in China went viral after they were posted to social media, and showed the lion sporting bangs—a rather unusual hairstyle for a lion.

这头广州动物园饲养的狮子的照片在社交媒体上发布后迅速走红。照片里的狮子留着刘海，对狮子而言是一种相当不寻常的发型。

In the photos, the male lion has a mane that looks like a mullet hairstyle, featuring short bangs in the front and long voluminous pieces of fur falling down the back. 

照片中，这头雄狮的鬃毛恰似“鲻鱼头”发型：前面有短刘海，后面披着丰盈的长毛。

The zoo said this hairstyle was "taken care of" by the lion itself and that they wouldn't "dare" cut the mane.

The zoo added that the lion's hairdo is accentuated by the humidity in the area.
