China halved the stamp duty on stock transactions effective Monday to invigorate the capital market and boost investor confidence, the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration announced Sunday in a statement.

8月27日，财政部、税务总局公告，为活跃资本市场、提振投资者信心，自2023年8月28日起，证券交易印花税实施减半征收。

The stamp duty on stock trading is currently 0.1 percent.

当前证券交易印花税为0.1%。

China's national observatory on Thursday renewed a red alert for Typhoon Saola, the most severe warning in its four-tier typhoon warning system, as the ninth typhoon of this year is expected to bring gales and heavy rain to southern and eastern parts of the country.

中央气象台8月31日发布最高级别的台风红色预警，预计今年第9号台风“苏拉”将抵达中国南部和东部地区，带来强风和暴雨天气。

The typhoon, observed over the ocean about 330 km Southeast of Huilai county, South China's Guangdong province at 5 am Thursday, is expected to move northwest at a speed of 10 km per hour with slowly decreased intensity, the National Meteorological Center said in a statement.

据中央气象台发布，台风“苏拉”31日早晨5时位于广东惠来东南方向大约330公里的海面上，预计将以每小时10公里左右的速度向西北方向移动，强度缓慢减弱。

It will make landfall somewhere in the coastal areas stretching from Huilai to Hong Kong on Friday afternoon or Friday night, or move west by south and pass through the waters of eastern Guangdong without making landfall, the center said.

将于9月1日下午至夜间在广东惠来到香港一带沿海登陆，也有可能在广东东部近岸海面向西偏南方向移动。

Tianjin's elderly diving enthusiasts make a splash

Recently, a group of elderly men and women from Tianjin caused a stir online as they showcased their diving prowess in the Haihe River. Some of the elderly men even performed warm-up movements before waving to the onlookers and diving in, displaying graceful postures. Some netizens humorously remarked that the elderly men's diving had become a "6A-level attraction" in Tianjin.

近日，天津大爷大妈们在海河花式跳水的视频广为流传。有的大爷跳水前还向现场观众招手致意，做热身运动，姿势很标准。有网友戏称，这是天津民间“6A级景点”。

The Haihe River flows from west to east through the city of Tianjin, serving as a key transportation hub, a source of water for industrial and agricultural production, as well as supporting an ecological tourism scenic area. The divers are located mainly in the core urban areas, concentrated around the Shizilin Bridge and Beian Bridge. 

海河自西向东贯穿天津市区，是天津重要的交通运输场所、工农业生产水源和生态旅游景观带。大爷大妈跳水的河段主要在核心城区，集中在狮子林桥和北安桥。

A Supermoon and a Blue Moon rarely overlap, making Wednesday night's moon a rare sight. Super blue moons occur on average every 10 years, according to NASA. The next super blue moon won't happen again until January 2037.
