Biff showed Dad but he said,'We can't afford a new one. Sorry, Biff.'
Biff and Chip were shopping with Dad.Dad wanted to buy a bookcase for Kipper's room.They saw one outside the junk shop. He makes the people pay him money even if they are poor.If they cant pay. he puts them in prison...Every day the people ask my mother and her army to attack the city.She will not give the order to attack because she is afraid my uncle will harm me.I am a hostage in this palace.'她不会下令进攻，因为她怕我叔叔会伤害我。我是这座宫殿的人质。”'Then we must set you free,' said Biff.'The carpet will take us to your mother.'Biff and Kipper helped the boy to climb out of the window.
Then they all sat on the carpet.'How do we make it fly?' asked Kipper.

The scaredy cats thought about turning back,but they kept on going.On the other side of the bridge, the kittens tiptoed into the forest.Suddenly,Yellow Kitten began to wonder and worry about scarey things."What if something dreaful happens? What if we get lost?"他说：如果有不幸的事情发生怎么办？如果我们迷路了呢？"What if an evil cat-witch casts a spell,"Blue Kitten agreed,"and turns the whole world into nettle fields?"Abra-cat-dabra,grow nettles grow!"And all the cats and towns are lost and hidden in the nettles,"Yellow Kitten added,“全世界的猫咪和城镇都会被荨麻覆盖，” 小黄猫回答，whither dost thou wander?Heh,heh."and we never find the Post Office?"The scaredy cats wished they could go back home, but they walked on through the nettles, until they came to the high,rocky ledge.这两只胆小的猫咪真希望能够回家去，但是他们没有退缩，继续往前走，穿过了荨麻地，来到高高的山崖边。Suddenly,Blue Kitten began to wonder and worry about scarey things."What if something hideous happens?What if someone steals us?""What if a great,screeching bird snatches us?" Yellow Kitten agreed.小黄猫非常同意地说道：“如果有一只尖叫的大鸟把我们抓走怎么办呢？”"And takes us to its nest,high on a mountain top,"Blue Kitten added.“把我们抓到它的窝里去，那个窝在高高的山顶上。” 小蓝猫说。"And,"Yellow Kitten said,"we have to feed and care for its ugly babies."Even now, the scaredy cats kept on going.They did not turn back.即使到现在，两只担心的猫咪，还是继续前进，没有退缩。Watch your step. Follow my tail.Hurray! At the bottom of the ledge, the kittens came into town, and the Post Office was not hard to find.万岁！下了山崖之后就到镇子上了，而且邮局也不难找。Look! There it is!Let's go!But when they ran up to the door, a truly bad and awful and dreadful and terrible and woeful and hideous thing happened.但是当他们跑到邮局的时候，最糟糕，最可怕的事情发生了。The Post Office was closed for the day.Now, Mother's coin could not buy a stamp.Mother's letter could not be mailed.How could the kittens go home without finishing their job?Just then,the kittens had a wonderful surprise.A bus drove up and Grandmother Cat stepped out.No one knew she was coming to Catville.The kittens told her about Mother's very important letter,and about the scarey things.小猫咪们告诉奶奶关于妈妈那封重要的信和可怕的事情。We carried Mother's coin and letter.Troll Cat,and wind,and bandits,and nettles and bird…When Grandmother Cat looked at the letter, it was her turn to be surprised.She opened it,and read out loud.Dear Grandmother Cat, Why don't you come for a visit?Before they left Catville,Grandmother Cat took the kittens to the ice cream parlour.在他们离开Catville（那个猫镇的名字）之前，猫奶奶带小猫咪们去了冰激凌店。She treated them all to fishberry cones.Which way are the bandits?Show me that old Troll Cat.You say there's a witch up ahead?哪一条路上有强盗啊？还有告诉我猫妖怪在哪里？还有女巫在哪里呀？At last,the kittens started for home,with Grandmother Cat following close behind.On the way,they wondered and worried about scarey things-but not very much.在路上，他们想象和担心一些可怕的事情，但是没那么害怕了。27.《Hiding》躲猫猫
Puff likes to hide in the box.Puff likes to hide in the bag.Puff likes to hide in the closet.Puff likes to hide behind the chair.Puff likes to hide in the basket.Puff likes to hide under the rug.Puff likes to hide under the bed.Puff likes to hide in the bed,too.28.《Over in the Meadow》在草地上
Over in the meadow，In the sand in the sun,
草地上，阳光下的沙地上，
Lived an old mother toadie and her little toadie on.
住着蟾蜍妈妈和她的宝宝。
“Wink！” said the mother,
“眨眨眼！”妈妈说，
“I wink！” said the one,
“我眨眨眼！”蟾蜍宝宝说，
So they winked and they blinked In the sand in the sun.
于是，它们在阳光下的沙地上眨着眼睛。
Over in the meadow，Where the stream runs blue,

Lived an old mother fish And her little fishes two.
住着鱼妈妈和两条鱼宝宝。
“Swim！” said the mother,

“We swim！” said the two,

So they swam and they leaped Where the stream runs blue.

Over in the meadow，In a hole in a tree,

Lived an old mother squirrel and her little squirrels three.

“Nibble！” said the mother,

“We nibble！” said the three,

So they nibbled and they hid In the hole in the tree.

Over in the meadow， In the reeds on the shore,

Lived an old mother otter And her little otters four.

“Dive！” said the mother,

So they dived and they burrowed in the reeds on the shore.

So they cawed and they called In their nest built of sticks.

Over in the meadow，Where the grass tastes like heaven,

Lived on old mother rabbit And her little rabbits seven.
住着一只兔妈妈和她的七只兔宝宝。
"Hop！" said the mother,
“跳起来！”兔妈妈说，
"We hop！" said the seven,
“我们跳起来！”七只兔宝宝说，
So they hopped and they bounced In the green grassy heaven.
所以他们在这碧草乐园里又蹦又跳。
Over in the meadow， By the old mossy gate,
草地上， 在长满苔藓的古老大门旁，
Lived a brown mother lizard And her little lizards eight.
住着一只棕色的蜥蜴妈妈和八只小蜥蜴。
"Bask！" said the mother，"
晒晒太阳吧！”妈妈说，
"We bask！" said the eight,
“我们晒晒太阳！”八只小蜥蜴说，
So they basked in the sun On the old mossy gate.
于是，它们在长满苔藓的古老大门上沐浴着阳光。
Over in the meadow，Where the quiet pools shine,
草地之上， 在平静的、洒满阳光的湖面上，
Lived a green mother frog And her little froggies nine.
住着一只绿色的青蛙妈妈和九只小青蛙。
“Croak！” said the mother,
“呱呱叫！”妈妈说，
“We croak！” said the nine,
“我们呱呱叫！”九只小青蛙说，
So they croaked and they splashed Where the quiet pools shine.
于是，它们在波光粼粼的湖面上，呱呱叫着、游着。
Over in the meadow，in a dark little den,
在草地上， 在一个隐蔽的小洞穴里，
Lived a black mother spider And her little spiders ten.
住着一只黑色的蜘蛛妈妈和十只小蜘蛛宝宝。
“Spin！” said the mother,
“吐丝吧！”妈妈说，
“We spin！” said the ten,
“吐丝！”十只小蜘蛛说，
So they spun lacey webs In their dark little den.
于是，它们在隐蔽的小洞穴里编织着带花边的网。
29.《The Chatterbox Turtle》喋喋不休的乌龟
Turtle lived in a muddy pool.
Lots of animals came to the pool to drink.
Trutle loved to talk to the animals.
"Turtle is a big chatterbox,"they said.
One day, Turtle saw two geese by the pool.
"What are you doing here?"he asked."We are on our way home,"said the geese.
"We live far, far away on a beautiful bl lake."
Turtle looked at his muddy pool."I wish I could go there, "he said.
"Why don't you fly back with us?"asked the two geese.
"I can’t fly."Turtle told them.
"We'll carry you to the lake, "said the geese.
"But you must not talk until we get home."
"I won’t say one word!"said Turtle.
The geese found a long stick.
They held it in their beaks.
"Hold onto this with your mouth,"they said.
"And remember! You must not talk.Not a word, or you will fall."“而且记住！千万不要说话。一个字也别说，不然你会掉下去的。”
Turtle put the stick in his mouth and the two geese flew up,up into the sky.乌龟把棍子叼在了嘴里。两只鹅飞了起来，越飞越高，飞向了天空。
As they flew over the trees, two parrots saw them.
Where are you going,Turtle?
Turtle wanted to shout back to them.
Just in time, he remembered not to talk.
The monkeys saw Turtle, too.
They waved their paws at him.
"You do look silly."they shouted.
Just in time, he remembered not to talk.
"Look! Turtle has to keep his mouth closed, "laughed Snake.
"I bet you can't keep your mouth closed, Turtle.
"Yes I can!"shouted Turtle.
Down, Down, Down, he fell.
Bump! Bump! Bump! He went.
The animals rushed to see if he was all right.
Turtle grinned up at them.
"You were right,"he said. "I can't stop talking."
"But now I've been flying," he laughed. "I've got even more to talk about!"“但是现在，我已经飞过了，”他笑着说，“现在我有更多可以说的东西啦！”
And he want all the way home to his muddy pool.30.《So Big!》如此巨大！
