当地时间8日晚间，英国哈里王子和梅根王妃宣布，他们将放弃英国“高级”王室成员身份，未来将在英国和北美两地之间分配自己的时间。
在一份发布在社交平台的声明中，哈里和梅根表示，“经过了数月的反思和讨论”，他们决定不再担任英国王室重要成员的角色。“他们计划在王室家族中发挥一份新的进步的作用。”两人还表示，他们打算“努力实现财务独立”。

British royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have surprised both Buckingham Palace and the public by announcing that they are to step back from their roles as part of the UK royal family.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday evening, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said, "We intend to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent."
Harry and Meghan's statement added that "after many months of reflection," they were "starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution (the British royal family)."
