美国非洲裔男子乔治·弗洛伊德枉死在白人警察跪压之下，由此引发的大规模抗议活动仍在继续。1日晚，为应对抗议人群，白宫北门外拉法耶广场周围竖起了近2.5米高的铁网围墙。

2日当天，华盛顿民众继续前往白宫外单膝跪地，向铁网内高喊 “和我们一起跪下（Kneel with us）”。近些天来，单膝下跪已成为抗议者纪念弗洛伊德的标志性动作。

美东时间2日晚7时，美国华盛顿特区宵禁正式开始。据记者现场目测，白宫外的抗议规模已达到上千人。晚10点后，抗议人数有所减少，但依然有上百人聚集在白宫外。

George Floyd's death stirred up public anger and sparked nationwide protests in the U.S., leading many cities to impose curfews. And a tall metal fence has been put up near Lafayette Square across from the White House on Monday night.

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered on Tuesday before a 7 p.m. curfew in Washington, D.C., chanting "no justice, no peace," "kneel with us," and "we need justice for George Floyd". The crowds grew thinner around 10 p.m. local time, but some protesters were still outside the White House fence.

多地继续实行宵禁

除华盛顿以外，当地时间2日，纽约市市长白思豪宣布，将当地宵禁时间延长至7日晚。

6月1日晚，纽约市自1943年以来首次实施宵禁，宵禁时间从23时至第二日凌晨5时。但1日晚的宵禁对于纽约过去数日的混乱场面几乎未能起到阻止作用，入夜后示威抗议活动变得暴力，曼哈顿中城及第五大道有多家店铺遭到侵入。从2日晚开始，纽约的宵禁时间将改为20时至第二日凌晨5时，以试图减少混乱的发生。

Evening curfews were also ordered in dozens of other cities in the U.S., with New York City extending the curfew to June 7. It was also the first time for the city to impose a night-time curfew since the year of 1943. 

On the first night, however, the curfew hardly stopped the chaos, with protests becoming more violent at night, and many shops in Midtown Manhattan and the Fifth Avenue were looted.

加州洛杉矶当地政府通过社交媒体发布通知，作为全美人口数量最多的县之一，拥有1000万左右人口的洛杉矶县将在当地时间2日晚继续实施宵禁，宵禁时间将从当晚6点一直持续到第二天早上6点。城市中一些基本的服务工作人员、需要寻求医疗帮助的患者等人员拥有宵禁豁免权。

As one of the largest U.S. counties with about 10 million people, the Los Angeles County of California, also announced that they would continue to implement a curfew on Tuesday night from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to the local government via social media.

Joe Biden, Democratic U.S. presidential candidate, and former vice president spoke in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, calling on Congress to act on real police reform.

He mentioned several measures that should be made law this month — to stop transferring weapons of war to police forces, to improve oversight and accountability, to create a model use of force standard. He also emphasized during his speech that there's "no more excuses and no more delays."

6月2日，一些音乐公司以及蕾哈娜、艾玛·沃森、水果姐、Coldplay等近百位欧美明星，自发在社交平台上发出纯黑图片抗议种族歧视，呼吁为遭警察“锁喉而死”的乔治·弗洛伊德发声。

特朗普的小女儿蒂凡尼·特朗普也加入了这场为黑人发声的行动，并引用海伦·凯勒的名言“单枪匹马，杯水车薪，同心一致，其利断金”。

然而，有网友回复道："告诉你爸爸，请传播爱，而非仇恨。"

The U.S. music industry observed a blackout on Tuesday, by canceling releases of new records and turning off the music, to reflect on the death of George Floyd and show support to the black community.

Several top record labels and musicians have voiced support of the event and posted a signature black square on social media, including Rihanna, David Beckham, Emma Watson, Katy Perry, and Coldplay.

President Trump's daughter, Tiffany Trump, was also seen joining in on "Blackout Tuesday" Instagram trend, with netizens responding to her all-black post in the comment section, 

"Please tell your father to spread love and not hate."
