中国人权研究会11日发表《新冠肺炎疫情凸显“美式人权”危机》一文，揭露美国政府应对疫情自利短见、任性低效和不负责任，目前已造成超200万美国民众感染、11万多人死亡的悲剧，更使得美国长期存在的社会撕裂、贫富分化、种族歧视、弱势群体权益保障不力等问题充分暴露和持续恶化，导致美国民众陷入深重的人权灾难。
The China Society for Human Rights Studies on Thursday issued an article titled "The COVID-19 Pandemic Magnifies the Crisis of 'U.S.-Style Human Rights,'" denouncing the U.S. government's self-interested and irresponsible response to the pandemic.
Noting the number of confirmed cases in the U.S. surpassed two million with more than 110,000 deaths, the article pointed out that the U.S. government's "self-interested, short-sighted, inefficient, and irresponsible response to the pandemic has caused the tragedy."
"It has exposed the long-existing and now deteriorating problems in the United States, such as a divisive society, the polarization between the rich and the poor, racial discrimination, and the inadequate protection of the rights and interests of vulnerable groups," read the article.
"This has led the American people into grave human rights disasters," it read.
文章认为，美国政府一再忽视疫情警告，怠于采取防控措施，并未把民众的生命权和健康权放在第一位，反而优先考虑资本市场的反应，导致政府既未对民众进行有效预警，也没有为疫情大流行所带来的潜在医疗资源消耗做准备，把美国民众推向感染和死亡的边缘。
《时代》周刊网站5月20日报道称，美国延迟采取社交疏离政策导致了90%的新冠死亡病例，付出如此沉重的代价是美国民主的失败。文章就此指出，一些美国政客并不把保障人民的生命和健康作为首要任务，反而将疫情作为攻击政治对手的武器，谋求选举利益。The article attributed the outbreak of COVID-19 in the U.S. to the government's negligence and its capital-prioritized mandate, which have pushed the people of the U.S. to the edge of infection and death.It referred to reports published by Time magazine which claimed that 90 percent of the deaths were due to the delayed adoption of social distancing policies, calling the grave loss a failure of U.S. democracy.Instead of prioritizing the life and health of Americans, U.S. politicians politicized the pandemic by using it to attack their rivals and seek political advantages from it, the article said.针对美国社会日益恶化的种族不平等问题，文章称，亚裔群体遭受严重的污名化攻击。疫情暴发以来，亚裔美国人在公共场合遭受羞辱甚至攻击的事件比比皆是。疫情期间，美国种族主义暴力事件频发多发，进一步加剧了疫情期间紧张的社会气氛，社会分裂、种族对立和枪支泛滥随之恶化。
Regarding the worsening racial inequality in the U.S., the article also pointed out that the number of racist remarks and crimes against Chinese and ethnic Asians as the whole have spiked in the U.S. since the outbreak started. The increasing racist attacks, according to the article, have escalated the tension and are tearing apart U.S. society.抗疫不力违反“保障生命权”这一国家义务，违反平等与不歧视原则恶意“污名化”中国，试图将世界卫生组织打造成“替罪羊”……文章强调，面对这场全人类与病毒的斗争，美国政府非但未将精力投入疫情防控，反而挥舞霸权大棒四处煽风点火，试图转移视线、推卸责任，对国际社会团结合作应对疫情造成严重破坏。
Instead of putting all its efforts into epidemic prevention, the U.S. government chose to play blame games and scapegoat China and the WHO in an attempt to shift attention and anger. This behavior has posed a severe threat to people's life and health and has also caused serious damage to international cooperation.
