美国缺钱生产和分发新冠疫苗？还差多少？
事实上，多名美国卫生官员曾表示，“2021年年中之前，大部分美国人不太可能接种到新冠疫苗。”
U.S. President Donald Trump recently promised that the coronavirus vaccine will be available to every American by April 2021. However, Dr. Robert Redfield, Director of U.S. CDC, had previously said that a vaccine wouldn't be widely available until the summer or early fall of next year. In regard to this disparity, Trump criticized Redfield and claimed that "he made a mistake".
那么，明年4月，美国公众到底能否接种新冠疫苗呢？
近日，多名美国公共卫生官员表示，要生产和分发供应全部美国人的新冠疫苗，目前仍缺少大量的资金。
美国卫生与公众服务部负责防备和应对的助理部长鲍勃近日警告称，要达到生产3亿剂疫苗的目标，还需要200亿美元的资金支持。
雷德菲尔德则表示，美国疾控中心目前没有足够的资金去实现全国范围内的疫苗分发，在低温下存储和运输疫苗的设施也很缺乏。为实现既定的目标，还需要55亿到60亿美元的资金支持。
然而，在资金已经不足的情况下，一笔原本该用来应对新冠疫情的资金却被挪用了。
美国疾控中心此前接到通知，需要将一笔约2.5亿美元的资金转移给美国卫生与公众服务部，用于8月底该部门的公关合同招标，这份公关招标计划的目标是“激发”美国公众对战胜新冠肺炎疫情的信心。
这一高额公关计划被多名美国卫生官员指责受竞选政治目的驱动、超出卫生部职责范围。雷德菲尔德表示，美国疾控中心并未参与这份公关合同，在不知情的情况下被挪用了资金。
Bob Kadlec, assistant secretary for preparedness and response at the Department of Health and Human Services, on Wednesday said they need an additional 20 billion U.S. dollars to have 300 million doses of a vaccine available. On the same day, CDC Director Robert Redfield said a vaccine against the coronavirus likely would not be available for widespread distribution until next summer or fall. The agency said it needs 5.5 billion to 6 billion U.S. dollars that it does not currently have in order to distribute a coronavirus vaccine, highlighting challenges in logistics and storage of vaccines at cold temperatures.
