In 1945, the world was screaming out its revulsion to World War II, and the United Nations was born of a collective hope for lasting peace. 

Tested by divisions, conflicts and crises, 75 years on, is the United Nations fulfilling its mission to prevent war, uphold international law, fight for human rights, and promote social and economic progress?

As 2020 kick-starts, COVID-19, an invisible killer, is sweeping the world. Although the World Health Organization within the framework of the UN, has been spearheading the international response in the fight against the virus, the capacity of the United Nations is once again being put to the test. 

Meanwhile, with the resurgence of isolationism and protectionism, globalization is also at a crossroads. Where does the UN go from here?
