据日本共同社报道，国际奥委会主席巴赫7月14日在接受采访时表示，为了防控新冠疫情，东京奥运会将采取“自助式颁奖”——获奖运动员将自己从托盘中拿起奖牌，自行佩戴在脖子上。
依照惯例，一般由国际奥委会委员及国际单项体育联合会主席为获奖运动员授予奖牌。
巴赫还表示，在颁奖仪式上不会采取握手、拥抱等祝贺方式。此外，美联社报道称，奖牌获得者和颁奖仪式出席人员将被要求佩戴口罩。
International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach on Wednesday said that medals will be presented to athletes at the Tokyo Olympics on a tray, and the athletes will put them around their own necks in order to protect against the spread of the coronavirus.
Bach added that there will be no hugs or handshakes during the medal ceremonies.
