Another Girl Got into a DiDi and Then...

It was pouring rain at 1 o'clock in the morning on August 22 in Leshan, a city in the southwestern province of Sichuan, when DiDi driver Mr. Chen drove across a bridge and found a woman sitting on the edge. As many in his situation would, he suspected she was going to jump to her death.

Mr. Chen immediately canceled the order he had been called for and quickly drove back to the woman in distress. He advised the girl to get in the car quickly, but she asked him to leave her alone.

So Mr. Chen dragged her into the car and called the police. Concerned about her troubling and potentially damaged mental situation, he did not send her home but instead drove her directly to the police station. 

Mr. Chen waited until she walked into the police station safely before he finally drove away. When the woman was questioned by the police, she said: “I’d been sitting on the edge of that bridge for more than half an hour, and only his car stopped.”

Such selfless kindness is sometimes hard to come by. There’s a lot of indifference in this world, which is why acts of courage and care from people like Mr. Chen are surely memorable.

Havel once said: “We insist on one thing not because it will have an effect, but because we firmly believe that it is right. We choose to be a good person. We choose to do good things, not for rewards, but because it is just.”

A passenger transferred RMB 1,500 by mistake instead of the RMB 15 he intended on paying, which certainly took the taxi driver Mr. Lei by surprise. Though RMB 1,500 isn’t that much money, it contains goodwill from a person’s warm heart.

The sprinkler in the park stopped a couple of riders, a little girl saw it, ran up against the water, and changed the direction of the water column by hand.

Her flower skirt was wet and the white shoes were dirty, but she didn't feel unhappy at all.

Not every child is 'naughty'. Some adults should feel ashamed of their inferiority of kindness when compared with other children.

On August 21 in Dezhou, a city in the northwestern province of Shandong, a blind person crossed the road while the signal light had changed to green. Cars began to drive as the man stood in the middle of the road, shaking his cane to feel his surroundings which almost cost hi his life on several occasions. A cab driver eventually pulled over to help the blind man walk all the way to the opposite side of the road before getting back into his car and driving away.

A boy from Hangzhou fell from the 6th floor to the ground floor, and a courier quickly found a blanket to catch the child. His wrist were dislocated, but the child’s life was saved.

Society shouldn’t be regarded as how evil people are, but rather it should be seen as a collective of brave souls who decide to do good despite all the evil that surrounds us. Our world isn’t perfect, but it’s still our world and I love it just the way it is. I love it for its beauty and also for its imperfections, and I truly believe that by loving it the same way I do, we can all help make it a bit better every day.
