On May 22, the official Weibo account (@Pingan Luoyang) of the public security bureau in Luoyang, Henan province, received a report from a netizen that someone posted a picture of poppies on the WeChat moments saying: "you can come and arrest me!".

Poppy in the raw form is the main ingredient for the production of opium. Its extract is also the source of a variety of sedatives, such as morphine, dihydropyridine (dipine), codeine, and noscapine. The scientific name, "Papaver Somniferum" means "hypnotic” which reflects its narcotic properties.

Upon receiving the report, @PinganLuoyang quickly verified it validity and summoned the woman surnamed Quan.

According to Quan, she was on her way home when she found a poppy thrown on the road. She picked it up and took a photo of it, posted on her moments saying “you can come and arrest me!”. After a while, she realized that may not have been the smartest idea and deleted it from her moments.

Police found poppies in Quan's house but found no other poppies or suspicious items. In accordance with the law, police have the right to destroy the poppies if found. Due to Quan’s minor violation, she apologized and the police educated her on her actions.

Many netizens laughed at her and commented “you asked the police to arrest you and your wish came true. Are you satisfied?”
