Great Leap Brewing's new taproom opens tomorrow

The brewers' latest venue is set to open in Lido

Christmas may just have come early for Beijing beer lovers, as Great Leap Brewing have finally announced the opening of their newest location, just a day before its soft opening tomorrow (Fri 21). Well, now it really is the most wonderful time of the year.

The brewers have still been serving up the goods at both their #45 gastropub and #6 hutong outlet in the months since the closure of their beloved Sanlitun #12 location back in May, but it's been a patient wait for the planned new venue – a spot they announced at that time. But the prince that was promised is finally here, and will be opening its doors from 6pm tomorrow, in the quieter pastures of Lido, just north of Nuo Hotel.

Great Leap Brewing Lido looks to be staying true to everything that has made the group one of the most successful and beloved names in Beijing F&B, as the city's OG of the oft-copied industrial aesthetic, the home to many of its best craft beers and some frankly outstanding pub food.

The new space sees a whopping 40-seater central bar, and table space for another hundred or so, and on the all-important beer front, an expansion to 30 different taps, featuring a line-up of their classic crafts and rotating draughts, including space for nine guest beers from across the world.

Now you have, and expect to see a lot more of it. Great Leap Brewing Lido's kitchen will be serving all the greatest hits from their other venues, with a selection of their burgers and sandwiches, pizzas, salads and bar snacks all featuring on their soft opening menu. There's also a rather promising-looking, fully loaded Reuben sandwich making a debut.

Christmas just got at least three times merrier, and so can you, when the venue opens tomorrow evening, from 6pm to 2am. Normal hours will then start from Saturday; see below for details.
