In addition to public transport, more public places in Beijing are scrapping the requirement of a negative PCR test for entry, said the authorities today.
Supposedly taking effect today Dec 6, officials announced it's no longer compulsory to show proof of a negative test for entering places like residential compounds, parks, supermarkets, office buildings and the Capital Airport.
Though it's specified the easing of entry restrictions doesn't yet apply to schools including kindergartens, medical facilities, train stations, as well as restaurants, bars, indoor gyms, internet cafes, KTVs and other enclosed or poorly ventilated areas for now.
As the city appears to phase out covid restrictions step by step, the biggest bits of welcome news today is perhaps the gradual resuming of in-house dining service. A great deal of restaurants and major malls have announced reopening for dine-in customers, including the likes of Great Leap (all locations), Paddy's, Slow Boat (Maizidian), Cafe Zarah, and Georgia's Feast.
Looking forward to visiting your favourite establishment? For now it's still required to have a 48-hour negative test in hand for dining in. For where to go to get tested in Chaoyang, officials have released an updated list of public testing sites this week. Read here for more and watch this space for more changes and updates.
