News! Sober Company Announced Its Closure!

Sober Company, the bar which ranked No. 11 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022, annouced its closure today!

The bar plans to close on June 26th. For anyone who wants to have a drink (takeaway only) before its closure, there are only 4 days left. Don’t be too upset if you’re a huge fan of Sober Company, because they’ll be back in the future.

A few hours ago, Sober Company released an official announcement of its closure on June 26th.

With the highest ranking among Chinese mainland’s bars, Sober Company is a bar recognized by alcoholics, and a must-visit for tourists visiting Shanghai.

In Sober Company, you need 3 chips to unlock the secret room “Tipsy” and get to the really good cocktails. This concept has turned out to be a great success.

In February of this year, Sober Company celebrated its fifth anniversary. No one expected that such an ending would come just a few months later.

On March 12th, all bars in Shanghai were forced to close. The nearly 90-day shutdown is undoubtedly a disaster to every bar and club, including Sober Company.

Although Sober Company has been greatly affected by the epidemic, the root cause for its closure is lease expiration. Coupled with the heavy pressure of the epidemic, the store has no choice but to close.

The good news is that the story of Sober Company is not over yet. The new location is expected to be unveiled in the fall. 

The staff team in Sober Company will temporarily be arranged to Speak Low and The Odd Couple, another two bars owned by SG Group. We’ll see what kind of surprises they will bring us when Sober Company is back.
