7 clubs in China snag spots on DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs 2017

DJ Mag recently released its list of the Top 100 Clubs of 2017, with China proving it's got some of the world's best places to party by taking seven spots on the list.

Shanghai's MYST came in at number 44, rising 16 spots from last year and being described by DJ Mag as 'one of China's most iconic of clubs'. Beijing snagged three spots on the list, with Elements (56), Modo Ultra Club (76) and Space One (91); as well as Shenzhen's Sector (86), Chengdu's Space (96) and Hangzhou's SOS (97).

MYST, which also got the silver medal for Best Mainstream Club in Time Out's Love Shanghai Awards 2016, had a big year in 2016. The club brought in some of the world's biggest DJs and names in electronic music – Skrillex, Tiësto, Marshmello, Armin van Buuren, Don Diablo, Nicky Romero, Blasterjaxx, Yellow Claw and more. In a city (and country) where electronic music is really just starting to bloom and get noticed, it's an impressive list.

And the big names keep coming. Next week MYST will play host to two more industry powerhouses: electro-dancehall super crew Major Lazer on Saturday 8; and electro house and big room DJ/producer Hardwell on Sunday 9 (book tickets for both on Time Out Tickets). Not too shabby.
