世界读书日
April 23 marks World Book and Copyright Day.
World Book and Copyright Day is a celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and reading. Each year, on 23 April, celebrations take place all over the world to recognize the scope of books - a link between the past and the future, a bridge between generations and across cultures. On this occasion, UNESCO and the international organizations representing the three major sectors of the book industry - publishers, booksellers and libraries, select the World Book Capital for a year to maintain, through its own initiatives, the impetus of the Day’s celebrations.
世界图书和版权日是为促进享受书籍和阅读而设立。每年4月23日，全世界都会举行庆祝活动，以彰显书籍的神奇力量—— 贯通过去和未来的纽带，连接世代与文化的桥梁。在这一天，教科文组织和代表图书行业3大领域（出版、销售、图书馆）的国际组织选定一个城市作为世界图书之都，该城市将按照其规划举办一系列有关这一主题的庆典活动，活动时间持续至次年4月23日。Since 2000, World Book and Copyright Day has inspired another initiative of professional organizations which receives the assistance of UNESCO and backing from States: World Book Capital City. Each year a city is chosen which undertakes to maintain, through its own initiatives, the impetus of the Day’s celebrations until 23 April of the following year. Almost all the regions of the world, in turn, have already been involved in this process, which thus transforms the celebration of books and copyright into a recurrent activity, extending still further the geographical and cultural influence of books.
自2000年以来，世界图书和版权日还激发了另一项由专业组织发起并得到教科文组织赞助和各国支持的倡议——“世界图书之都”。该活动每年选定一个城市作为世界图书之都，该城市将开展倡议活动，将这个国际日的精神延续到次年4月23日。世界上几乎所有地区都已轮流参与这项活动，因此，图书和版权日的庆祝活动已变成一项经常性活动，进一步扩大了图书的地域影响和文化影响。Then, following public calls for candidatures, the Advisory Committee successively nominated the city of :

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) in 2020
Tbilisi (Georgia) in 2021
Guadalajara (Mexico) in 2022.
23 April is a symbolic date for world literature. It is on this date in 1616 that Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. It is also the date of birth or death of other prominent authors, such as Maurice Druon, Haldor K.Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla and Manuel Mejía Vallejo.

《麦田里的守望者》原作名《The Catcher in the Rye》是美国作家杰罗姆唯一的一部长篇小说，塞林格将故事的起止局限于16岁的中学生 霍尔顿·考尔菲德从离开学校到纽约游荡的三天时间内，并借鉴了 意识流天马行空的写作方法，充分探索了一个十几岁少年的内心世界。

老人与海 The Old Man and the Sea

作者：Ernest Miller Hemingway
《老人与海》是海明威最著名的作品之一，诺贝尔文学奖获奖之作，教育部推荐读物。它围绕一位老年古巴渔夫，与一条巨大的马林鱼在离岸很远的湾流中搏斗。《老人与海》奠定了海明威在世界文学中的突出地位，对于他1954年获得诺贝尔文学奖也起了重要作用。后有同名电影、动画、歌曲等作品。

小王子 The Little Prince
The Little Prince（豆瓣 9.4）
作者：Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
本书的主人公是来自外星球的小王子。书中以一位飞行员作为故事叙述者，讲述了小王子从自己星球出发前往地球的过程中，所经历的各种历险。作者以小王子的孩子式的眼光，透视出成人的空虚、盲目，愚妄和死板教条，用浅显天真的语言写出了人类的孤独寂寞、没有根基随风流浪的命运。同时，也表达出作者对金钱关系的批判，对真善美的讴歌。
《小王子》是法语书籍中拥有最多读者和译本的小说，曾当选为20世纪法国最佳图书。最后，分享易烊千玺为大家朗读《小王子》的片段。
