Don’t miss out on the hottest Red Hand challenge this summer

Hey bartenders, you have officially entered the second half of 2018. How many goals have you achieved from your New Year’s resolutions? If you’ve regretted missing out on a bartending challenge, here comes your chance to make up for it as the hottest Red Hand challenge initiated by Campari officially kicked off last week! Challenge yourselves with a ten-second video as well as an original Campari cocktail, and see how creative your mind can be. 

The Red Hand challenge is a campaign built to find the world’s best Campari cocktail. As the Red Hand challenge tagline goes – every cocktail tells a story and the challenge creates a stage for the story behind the cocktail and the bartenders crafting them. If you haven’t heard of it yet, read to find out how to enter: 

  • A ten-second video (portrait mode only, editing allowed)

  • Original Campari cocktail recipe with the name 

  • One-sentence description to further hook us into your video

  • Personal information including your name, bar, city and contact number 

You can use either a phone, a camera or a GoPro to make your video. The only important thing is to be creative and tell the story. It could be mysterious and curious, or packed with drama and fun! The cocktail doesn’t have to appear in it, but there should be some link. Each person can submit maximum two entries at this stage.

Cocktail recipe requirements: 

  • Create an original Campari cocktail using a minimum of 30ml Campari and one kind of Chinese alcohol (Chinese spirit, liqueur, or whichever kind. Be imaginitive!).

  • Do not use more than five ingredients (garnish not included). 

Don’t say shooting a ten-second video is tough – spare the time you spent on Douyin and make yours using your phone! In case you are still confused, here is Eddy Yang’s version and his original drink using Campari, red waxberry wine and orange juice:

Via WeChat, by 11.59pm on July 18 – send your video, recipe, one-sentence description and your personal info to DRiNK’s official WeChat account following these steps:

Step 1 Follow DRiNK’s official WeChat account and click “View”.

Step 2 Drop your video as a WeChat message in the format below. You can send your edited version from “Album”, or if you are confident that your idea is brilliant, just press “Camera” and hold to record!  

Step 3 Send your cocktail recipe with the name, one-sentence description and your personal info in one message.


Once the judging panel decide the best eight submissions based on the curiosity ignited and originality of the video and recipe, the chosen bartenders will be announced on July 31 and then enter the second half of the Red Hand challenge, which is an exciting combination of a sales challenge, online voting, and the grand final.

From August 1 to August 31, the finalists need to compete as part of their bar team and as an individual – to sell as many of their Red Hand drink in their bar as possible, and collect online votes during the whole month. But just to drop you a hint: the sales challenge and online voting won’t have an impact on your final sore at Shanghai’s grand final in September, where you’ve finally got a chance to fly to Shanghai and finish the story that you started


The top team from the sales challenge will receive a team Campari experience worth 5000rmb, while the most popular bartender from online voting will win a fine Italian-crafted item in return. And the big prize for our grand final champion? A wonderful trip to Milan!

The deadline for submission is also drawing near! So stop procrastinating and construct the plot of your video now! Submit before July 18; you are being watched.
