这家酒单概念玩很大的伦敦酒吧要来魔都了 London’s The Gibson is coming to Shanghai

两周前,我们刚挥别从纽约Dante来到上海快闪的Naren Young,现在,The Movers & Shakers系列活动又迎来了大西洋对岸的一家明星酒吧——伦敦The Gibson。嗯,魔都的这个7月真的很精彩!

It was only two weeks ago when we waved goodbye to Naren Young (link to the Dante pop-up story) from NYC’s Dante, and now, The Movers & Shakers series returns with another internationally renowned bar from the other side of the world – The Gibson in London.

The Gibson虽然是两年多前才开业的,但却以新人之姿在2016年全球50家最佳酒吧中排行第六,是当年排名最高的新入榜酒吧,表现可以说是十分强势了。如今,凭借着禁酒令时期风格的装修、私密氛围和优质鸡尾酒,它已经成为了伦敦最具代表性的酒吧之一。

Opened two years ago, The Gibson is named after the classic Dry Martini variation born in 1908. Since then, the bar has earned creds for its prohibition-themed decor, intimate atmosphere and quality cocktails. With a current ranking of No21, it was the winner of “Best New Entry” in the World’s 50 Best Bars list in 2016.

主理人Marian Beke(此前他曾任职于伦敦知名酒吧Purl和Nightjar)为The Gibson打造了一份概念性极强的酒单。酒单按照一年之中的12个月来分类,客人可以先选中自己喜欢的月份,再从那个月份之下的四款鸡尾酒中挑选最适合自己的那款。这些鸡尾酒用到了大量的季节性原料,并融入各种烹饪处理技巧(比如腌制原料的运用),绝对会让你眼界大开。

Owner-bartender Marian Beke (formerly of London’s Nightjar) has created a high-concept menu where the drinks are categorized by the theme of 12 months. Adopting seasonal ingredients and kitchen techniques, these drinks are complex, intriguing and fun, with a story each. 

虽说Beke此前曾经来过上海客座调酒,但都是单枪匹马上阵,而这一次就不同了:从7月26日31日,丽嘉阁将全方位重现The Gibson的感官体验,包括装修、灯光、音乐和酒单等等。Beke和The Gibson酒吧经理Tony Pescatori联手在吧台后为你送上十款特色鸡尾酒,包括与酒吧同名的经典鸡尾酒The Gibson Martini。

Although you might have seen Beke on guest shifts in Shanghai before, this is the first time that local drinkers get a fuller experience from The Gibson. The Library at the Ritz Bar & Lounge will be transformed into the celebrated London venue every night from July 26 to 31, with Beke and Tony Pescatori, The Gibson’s bar manager, behind the stick. Guests can choose from a list of ten cocktails from the original Gibson menu, including the signature Gibson Martini.

Beke will also host a masterclass together with Whitley Neill gin and Johnny Neill, the eighth-generation member of the gin distilling family, at the Ritz Bar & Lounge from 2.30-5pm on July 26. Those who have signed up successfully will be notified via email or phone.
