Get ready for a sensory journey with Arnd Henning Heissen

The Movers & Shakers series at the Portman Ritz-Carlton Shanghai continues in September with a pop-up from another award-winning bar from abroad. This time Shanghai will welcome over a friend from Germany – Arnd Henning Heissen, bar manager at The Curtain Club and Fragrances at The Ritz-Carlton Berlin.

Since 2010, Heissen has been developing The Ritz-Carlton Berlin into an international mecca of bartending expertise. A truly creative mind, he uses aromas and perfumes as inspiration for his drinks, offering guests a full-on sensory experience. For him, each cocktail should tell a story; evoking emotions and memories in the globetrotters who visit the bar.

Heissen and the bar are favourites of Mixology Bar Awards: he won Host of the Year in 2013 and Mixologist of the Year in 2014. In 2014, The Curtain Club also took home the Best Hotel Bar award. 

From Tuesday September 4 to Friday September 8, 7pm till late, Heissen will be behind the bar at the Ritz Bar & Lounge telling stories via six creative classics from the current menu at The Curtain Club, each an exquisitely packaged sight to behold. Get your eyes, nose and taste buds ready – this will be an exceptional journey for the senses.
