情人节真的是一个受欢迎的节日，一年12个月每个月14号都有属于每个月的情人节，比如2月的西方情人节，3月的白色情人节，7月的银色情人节以及10月的葡萄酒情人节。

While Valentine’s Day is a popular annual event, affairs of the heart are celebrated all year long in China with more than a half-dozen days linked to love, from Singles Day in November to 520 in May—the numbers of that date sound like wo ai ni / I love you.

当然七月初七，七夕，又名乞巧节，七巧节，是中国民间的传统节日，也被我们称为中国的情人节，今年是8月4日。（节日必然就有宠粉的活动，拉到底部䁖一眼吧~）

Qixi, which falls on August 4 this year, is arguably the most significant. (See CHEERS’ Qixi wine deals at the bottom.)

这不仅是一个浪漫的充满色彩的神话故事，还有对爱情的向往、星宿和一只“会说话的牛”。

This isn’t a story just about love, but also tragedy, outer space and a talking cow.

壹｜七夕传说

关于他们的传说版本有多种，其中一版相传，织女是天神，牛郎是凡人。在天上的日子，织女感觉无聊没意思，于是就偷偷下凡玩耍还碰到了牛郎，两人一见钟情， 然后结为夫妻，生了一儿一女，差点儿就要过上幸福美满的生活。

It begins long ago, when a cloud weaver flew from the Heavens to humble planet Earth. She met and fell in love with a cow herder, married him, had children and planned to live happily ever after.

自古人神相恋都是违反天条的，后来王母发现，并命令天兵天将把织女带了回来。

Until her mother, the Empress of Heaven, discovered a mere human was her son-in-law and ordered her soldiers to bring her daughter back.

至此故事更充满神话色彩。通灵性的老牛不忍看着他们分离，然后告诉牛郎（是的，它会说话）， “如果你杀了我，剥下我的皮，然后再穿上，你就可以飞到天上与织女团聚。”

Then the story gets weird. The herder’s best ox told him—yes, it could talk—"If you kill me and skin me and wear my hide, you can fly to the Heavens and reunite."

最后牛郎披上了老牛的皮做的衣裳，带着他的孩子们飞去了天上，这可不是什么暑假！眼看就要成了，王母忽然用她的钗子在天空划出了一条 “银河” ，就这样他们又被分隔在了银河两端，只能遥遥相望。

The farmer ultimately killed the cow, suited up, grabbed his children and headed for space—not your typical summer vacation! The Empress was ready with a counter-stroke: she used a hairpin to scratch into the heavens a ‘Silver River’ aka The Milky Way to keep the lovers apart.

喜鹊被他们的感情所感动，无数的喜鹊飞上了天，用它们的身体在银河上搭起了一座桥，让织女和牛郎在桥上相会。王母看到这一幕也被感动了，便允许喜鹊每年都这样做，让他们在七夕相会一次，神话告一段落。

But you can’t stop love. Billions of magpies flew to the heavens, used their bodies to build a bridge over the Silver River and the weaver and herder reunited. The Empress, so moved by this scene, allowed the magpies to do it every year so lovers can meet, make out and maybe enjoy some wine.
