ByOne Serves Up Cheesy Individual Pizzas

Now that the voting has commenced for the 2016 Pizza Cup (which you can vote for by clicking here), we at the Beijinger are continuing to profile various participating restaurants with our Pizza Mania! series. Today's segment focuses on ByOne, which, despite a noble effort, was eliminated before the first round of voting. Nevertheless, this restaurant is still more than worth checking out, the reasons for which we detail below.

ByOne boasts an extensive menu specializing in Western food, and pizza is just one of the many options. With several locations around Beijing, ByOne is the place to go if you are looking for reminders of home including barbecue chicken wings, calamari, steak, fried chicken, and even dessert.

Pizza-wise, ByOne has a variety of pizzas for any pizza lover. The dough is pastry-like, and tastes light and flaky, though the crust itself is pretty substantial. They’ve seemed to nail down the perfect ratio of sauce, cheese, and toppings.

Each pizza is sized for an individual and comes with about two slices in either a circular or square pan.

Our favorite, the Hawaiian pizza (RMB 46), was just the perfect combination of sweet on a pizza. For those who like more of a hearty pizza, the Classic supreme pizza (RMB 49) is the way to go. Loaded with beef, olives, and peppers, this pizza was very filling. Finally, for gourmet pizza lovers, the roasted veal pizza with black pepper sauce (RMB 53) had chunks of thick and chewy meat and was particularly delicious.
