Imported Goods Shopping Festival Comes to Sanlitun

2017-11-04 Charles L. theBeijinger

Sanlitun residents saving up for China's biggest retail day of the year may want to loosen those purse strings as a shopping festival featuring imported goods opens up right in their neighborhood.

Until Nov 12 at Shimao Gongsan Mall, the "2017 Beijing Import Commodity Shopping Festival" will be selling over 1,000 imported goods from 30 countries that include Spain, Greece, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Shoppers will be able to purchase imports like New Zealand milk powder, Russian vodka, and Spanish breakfast cakes at discounted rates of up to 50 percent off their market price, reported the People's Daily.

Among the products seen on sale at the shopping festival were Paulaner beer from Germany as well as Latvian-branded Banga Smoked Baltic Sprats, which is a salty, sardine-like fish.

The shopping festival is located throughout the five floors of the mall with the second floor devoted to the sale of environmentally-friend "green" products.

The best part about it for Sanlitun residents is the location, one that you're probably familiar with.

Home to MUJI and Yihe 42 Degrees Hot Yoga, Shimao Gongsan is situated at the corner of Workers' Stadium North Road (工人体育场北路) and Xindong Road (新东路), right across the street from Heaven Supermarket and the Workers' Stadium.
