Buh-bye, public bikes: Beijing’s public bike system, used primarily by the city’s high-functioning geriatric community, has finally succumbed to pressure from commercial share-bikes. The city announced that all such bikes and their stations in inner districts will be retired, thus making much needed room pedestrians – or for more commercial sharebike parking.

Road closure reminder: Several roads in the Olympic Park area will be closed to pedestrians and vehicles this week. See the map below.

Cats stay loyal to Gongti: Workers' Stadium has been under renovation for a year now, but it’s not just football fans awaiting its return. According to “Aunty Tang,” who has been caring the cats who have made a home of stadium since 2017, the feline community never left the grounds – though they have been saddened to see their home flattened. Since then, Aunty Tang has recruited a team to capture cats in need of medical attention for treatment, as well as to spay and neuter them. But dozens of cats remain on the plot, awaiting rescue.
