Final Construction Stage Reached for Major Cultural Public Spaces in Tongzhou
Tongzhou officials are aiming to push Beijing's new "sub-center" as a cultural hub, enticing visitors from neighboring regions with new public cultural amenities, according to a report from Xinhua News. A theater, a library, and a museum in the district are in the final phase of construction and set to open to the public by the end of this year. The three buildings, covering nearly 300,000 square meters, were designed with the participation of international teams and boast renewable building materials and energy-saving technologies that can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by almost 10,000 tons per year.
Beijing to Construct Three New Fire Stations for Emergency Response
Beijing is set to enhance its firefighting and emergency rescue capabilities with the construction of three new fire stations, according to a report from Xinjingbao. The Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission has given the green light to the construction of Maquanying, Wulu, and Songjiazhuang fire stations. The stations are expected to be completed by the end of next year. This move aims to build six rail transit fire stations in the city to enhance the fire safety of the subway and surrounding areas.

Massive Renovation Projects Underway in Seven Districts in Beijing
On Jul 7, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development announced the first batch of comprehensive renovation projects for 57 residential areas and 163 buildings in seven district in Beijing, reports CCTV. The projects cover Xicheng, Haidian, Fengtai, Shijingshan, Daxing, Changping, and Huairou districts, with a total construction area of approximately 963,900 square meters. This initiative is an essential aspect of urban development, providing residents with improved living conditions and contributing to the overall advancement of the city.
