Transgender Project Department Trans Space Launched OnlineDue to the escalation of coronavirus (Covid-19), the Trans Space launched its service online since February. Group members communicated with each other through QQ, a media that is popular within transgender community, to mutually express their support and reinforce the group solidarity. From February 16th to February 22nd, we held two Trans Space online meetings with more than 90 people that attended, providing a platform for the community to socialize with group members and mentally support each other during the epidemic.Transgender Department Workbook CompletedThe Transgender Department spent nearly a month drafting the department’s workbook. The content is divided into seven sections including the introduction of the department, the structure of the department, project introduction, job responsibilities, job principles, work ethics and work ethics of the volunteers. The completion of the workbook indicates the renewal of the managerial organization in the Transgender Department, which can render the future work more efficient.Encounter the Epidemic – Online Supportive GroupWhen people are quarantined at home due to the coronavirus (Covid-19), Mental Health Department of the Center connected psychological consulting team with the community online. The team focused on the sharing of personal feelings and coping strategy. Eleven group activities, which were initially expected to help 110 people, have been organized from February 14 to the end of the March. The groups are all led and organized by professional therapists.

During the epidemic, the physiological consulting service of the Center is still available to the community in form of online video counseling. Till February 29th, 30 people - two of whose consulting prices have been largely discounted - have consulted through video call.1. Made annual work plan of 2020 for Mental Health Department.2. Wrote workbook of LGBT Affirming Psychologists project.3. Prepared 10 Encounter The Epidemic Supportive Group activities till the end of March, which were led by 6 therapists.4. Reposted two researches conducted by Dr.Yu in Hong Kong, respectively for therapists and LGBT members who received counseling. This media promotion aimed to understand the effectiveness of affirmative consultation on helping LGBT community.5. Participated in a call for donation and support for Center’s operation. (donation persuasion of Center’s birthday)6. Maintained the operation of psychological counseling space.7. Changed the regular activity from the general group guidance to the seminar with a specific topic: The Psychological Counseling Under the Epidemic.8. Changed onsite participation of support group to online form from the warm-up discussion to the feedback summary after the activity.9. Posted psychological articles on official account(bjlgbtcenter) and, after cautiously discussing several times on the pertinent projects, we decided to recruit volunteers for following activities. Strategic Adjustments and New Year’s Planning of Business Inclusion ProjectOn February 5th, the Business Inclusion Project resumed. In February, we have communicated with our partners about their situations under the epidemic and adjusted the annual Project plan. To better understand how to sustainably and firmly promote gender diversity and fight against discrimination at the workplace, the team of the Project invited 6 consultants with backgrounds in business and law and hosted an online focus group on February 29th to analyze the opportunities and challenges that the Project faces. Strategic adjustments will begin next month. Last month, the team of the Project have recruited two interns and they started working immediately. Two interns have joined the Project and started working in February.This year’s Valentine’s day was the 12th anniversary of the Center. The Center held an anniversary fund-raising to alleviate the financial crisis and overcome adversities. In the fund-raising, 312 friends in total have become Pride Partners,and they would provide financial support to the Center monthly.

To guarantee the rights and interests of Pride Partners and better communication with our donors, the Department developed the feedback mechanism of monthly donations into a comprehensive one and the procedure is as follow: reporting monthly progress, the list of monthly partners and their advice, interviewing partners and collecting feedback from those who accept our help. The Department, together with the volunteers of monthly donation projects, also finished works relative to the feedback mechanism.
2.The Department discussed and studied issues pertinentto prospective large and medium donations and designed a relative working mechanism to serve our donors.
3.The Department has recruited one intern and two volunteers for the donation project.
4.The Department, together with volunteers from translation team, accomplished the English version of the monthly donation report. We hope international friends can join our projects in the future.
5.Other work concerning donation
Thirty-five volunteers have registered, based on that nine groups including original writing and operation platform matrix were preliminarily formed. Four original writing teams were founded under the Media Department, namely Night Watch Video Team, Gleam Graphic Team, Javelin Text Team and Team for TranSight Special Column.

“LesBooze” Special Activity – Getting to Know a Lesbian from the Infected Area
In the wake of the sudden and overwhelming outbreak of the coronavirus, the Center organized the aforementioned special activity with Beijing Rainbow CP to facilitate female sexual minorities seeing, accompanying and supporting each other. A total of 200 participation vacancies were open for the activity, and 197 valid applications were received. Subsequently, 84 pairs of participants were matched. Each pair was made up of two participants coming from a severe epidemic area and a non-serious area respectively. Participants accomplished seven days of online accompanying tasks. The tasks involved discussions about life in the current epidemic situation as well as the epidemic’s impacts on the individual identities of sexual minorities. After the activity, all participants gave positive feedbacks and continued to interact in the group.

The donors’ names have been processed. We will use donations according to the ways specified by the donors and unspecified donations will be used for site operations.
