Soon It Will Only Be Six Hours From Shanghai To Xi'an by Train
By Lauren Hogan
Terracotta warriors, we're lookin' at you.
Starting next weekend it will take only six hours, versus the original 11, to travel from Shanghai to Xi'an via the new and improved Zhengxu High-Speed Railway.
Adding to this fast track addition, the Shanghai Railway Bureau says it will introduce a new route map to improve service, as well as 47 new trains to join the fleet. Other high-speed services will also be added between Shanghai and Taiyuan (Shanxi Province) and Shanghai and Shijiazhuang (Hebei Province), as well as to neighboring cities in Zhejiang Province.
The railway will be the first of its kind to connect the Yangtze River Delta with northwest China, truly elevating the platform to the next level.
