WATCH: This Flamethrower Drone in Chongqing is Badass
By Ryan Gandolfo
Badass footage of a flamethrower-wielding drone surfaced online on Wednesday, January 16. According to China News Network, workers from an electricity provider in Yongchuan, Chongqing built the ‘flamedroner’ to destroy hornets’ nests as well as debris caught on power lines. The drone is now being used in a working capacity to alleviate the arduous task of removing trash tangled on powers lines and other hard to reach places.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a drone spitting out red-hot flames. In 2017, videos circulated of a fire-breathing drone in Xiangyang. The quadcopter, operated by an electric-power maintenance company, was said to have the same purpose, which was to fly close to trash caught on power lines and incinerate it.
So, if you’re looking for a career change, ‘flamethrower drone operator’ is apparently a thing.
