【跟进】写给素里市长和市议员们的呼吁信 ：干不了就辞职?!

素里市府宣布今年将对业主征收17.5%的地税，这将是素里市有史以来幅度最大的地税上调。增加地税的理由，据市府解释是由于素里试图取消市警，保留皇家骑警，与警务相关的成本占其中的9.5%

有群友在各群发动:”这是市长和八位议员邮箱，大家赶快发邮件，一句话就行，No 17.5% increase!!!!!“。

2月27日，有群友“老任”发文，写了一封呼吁信：

To our mayor Brenda Lock and city councillors,                                          If before the municipal election, you have had told people that when I got voted up to the power, I would increase your property tax up 17.5% in one year because I would like change SPS back to RCMP and also charge your guys extra to release the inflationary pressure, and posted another cost for hiring additional 25 police officers, were you confident that you and your team could be elected? 

The government is supposed to be of the people by the people, and for the people. In this difficult time of inflation, no matter home owners, renters, or business owners, your people have already suffered from everything up the price. We do understand the property tax would be increased to battle the change, but not at this ridiculous rate.  The higher tax rates reduce the competitiveness of the city and undermine the sustainable development of the city. 

Be honest to the people, face the problem, and find out which way is best for the residents of our city. If switching back to RCMP is too much cost consuming, then keep the SPS, keep the transparency, audit where the tax goes, and explain to people the best way to keep the tax increase rate low. If you  do not have the ability to do it, then resign and let the more capable leader to do it“.

素里市长洛克Locke说，为了（维持）警力，她除了涨物业税以外，没有其他选择。但就算要增收税，也得公开成本，数字透明，对吧？

素里市提议：

1. 增加 9.5% 的物业税，以弥补 2023 年所谓的“警务过渡成本”。

2. 增加 7% 的物业税，以支付一般通胀压力、全市范围内的运营，以及雇用 25名新警官、20 名消防员和 10 名新执法人员。

3. 增加 1% 的道路和交通税。

素里市议会的财政委员会将于3月6日下午2时举行公开会议，审议2023年预算。公众可亲自出席财政委员会的会议，或以书面提交意见。书面意见的截止日期为2023年3月3日(星期五)中午。

您也可以通过邮件将您的意见提交给市长和议会，地址为13450 - 104 Avenue，Surrey，BC，V3T 1V8。

3. 注册以对公开听证会进行发言

先行填表格注册，以便在公开听证会上亲自发言。

会议期间

• 你有五分钟的时间发言。

• 您的意见必须与听证会上正在审议的章程相关。

• 一旦所有注册发言人发表意见，市长将为其他与会者提供向理事会发表意见的机会。

另外，2023年，温哥华市的地税提议涨幅为9.7%，列治文市的涨幅确定为5.89%。
