为什么老外喜欢把 though 放在最后？

和英美人聊天的时候，常常会听到对方说完一句话之后跟上一个 though 。虽然你心里很清楚 though 的意思是「虽然」，但是好像一下子很难反应过来为什么要加上这个 though（大多数情况下，though 的确是放在句子开头的 ）。来看下面的例句和对话：

I'm sorry, I can't stay for lunch. I'll have a coffee, though. 很抱歉我不能留下来吃午饭。不过我还是喝杯咖啡吧。（a coffee =  a cup of coffee）

—— You have six hours in the airport between flights! 你转机的时候要在机场等待6个小时阿！—— I don’t mind, though. I have lots of work to do. I’ll just bring my laptop with me. 但是我不介意。我还有很多工作要做，带上笔记本电脑就行。

看到这里是不是已经有答案了？没错，though 除了「虽然」之外，还有「但是」的含义。

THOUGH / HOWEVER

though 在表示「但是」的时候，用法和 however 基本一致。只不过 though 在表示转折的时候，常常会放在句子最后。对比下面两个句子：

We thought the figures were correct. However, we have now discovered some errors. 我们原以为数据是正确，但现在我们发现了一些错误。

Economics is a difficult subject. It's interesting, though. 经济学是一门难懂的学科，但很有趣。

THOUGH / ALTHOUGH

在表示「虽然」的时候，although 和 though 可以互换着用。口语里 though 更常用。

此外，可以说 even though，但是不能说 even although。

THOUGH 用在倒装句

同样在表示「虽然」的时候，though 可以引导一个倒装句。

Strange though it may sound, I was pleased it was over. 虽然这么说有点奇怪，但我还是很高兴这事儿结束了。

此时 though 一般不能用 although 代替。
