东学西游


亚里斯多德曾说:“人们来到城市是为了生活,人们留在城市是为了更好的生活。”此次国际联合学院展区的主题是“东学西游”,它记录了中国美术学院、法国南特大西洋设计学院双学位硕士项目中首届三位毕业生在中国杭州和法国南特,不同地域、两种文化、两个阶段的学习、生活经历。东学突出学习经历的起点,即立足于东方,首年他们浸染在西子湖畔的国美南山校区,在“淡妆浓抹总相宜”的诗情画意中体会着东方文化所孕育出的独特美学特质,东方的美是善、是自然、亦是超然。西游则强调学习的动态进程,即向西游学,以游为学,其中包含着《西游记》般的艰辛,正如《西游记》的英文常被翻译为Journey to the West,此处的“游”不会使用travel,tour,trip等词,而是journey一词,因为它是对此种漫长而又带着艰辛之旅的更确切表达。出门时,还是春风吹杨柳,归来时,已是风雪路途长。两年的西学游历,熏陶于西方设计之中,碰撞着功能主义、超功能主义,设计美学、交互美学各种设计主张。东学西游中,面对国情、人情、文化等诸多差异,外加新冠疫情带来的对教学、生活的挑战,这无疑都塑造着他们的个人特质和设计作品。陶行知先生把生活力分成健康生活力、劳动生活力、科学生活力、艺术生活力、社会改造生活力五大类,东学西游既记录着他们在生存力、生活力上的各种收获,同时展现出三位同学在两个观察平台上、两种视野比较下,运用交互技术对于认知自然(交互式海洋生物认知系统设计)、拓宽技艺(交互式剪纸设计)、立足未来(交互式全流程灯具设计)的设计思考。

Aristotle once said, "People come to the city to live, and people stay in the city to live better." The theme of the international joint college exhibition is "East Learning and West Traveling", which records the first three graduates of the dual-degree master's program of China Academy of Art and the College of Design of Nantes Atlantic in Hangzhou, China and Nantes, France, different regions, two cultures, two stages of learning and living experience. In the first year, they were immersed in the Nanshan Campus of Gomez on the shore of Xizi Lake, where they experienced the unique aesthetic qualities nurtured by the Eastern culture in the poetic atmosphere of "light makeup and thick color". Journey to the West, on the other hand, emphasizes the dynamic process of learning, i.e. traveling to the West, learning by traveling, which contains the hardships of Journey to the West, as Journey to the West is often translated as Journey to the West in English, where the word "journey" is not used as travel, tour, trip, etc., but The word "journey" is not used here, but the word travel, tour, trip, etc., because it is a more accurate expression of such a long and arduous journey.


When I left home, the spring breeze was still blowing the willow, but when I returned, it was already a long road of wind and snow. During the two years of western study and travel, we have been imbued with western design and collided with functionalism, super functionalism, design aesthetics and interaction aesthetics. During their travels, they faced many differences in national, human and cultural conditions, as well as the challenges of teaching and life brought by the new epidemic, which undoubtedly shaped their personal characteristics and design works. Mr. Tao Xingzhi divided the life force into five categories: healthy life force, labor life force, scientific life force, artistic life force, and social transformation life force, and the East Learning and West Traveling not only recorded their various gains in survival and life force, but also showed that the three students used interactive technology to cognize nature (interactive marine life cognitive system design), broaden their skills (interactive paper-cutting design), and design their works under the comparison of two observation platforms and two visions. The design thinking of using interactive technology to cognize nature (interactive design of marine life cognitive system), broaden skills (interactive design of paper-cutting), and build on the future (interactive design of whole process lighting).
