‘A blessing came my way’: EXO's Chen confirms he is getting married to ‘pregnant’ fiancée

Metro

EXO star Chen has announced he is getting married – and his fiancée is reportedly pregnant.

The 27-year-old confirmed the happy news with a handwritten letter after SM Entertainment told fans that Chen had met a ‘non-celebrity’ that he had fallen in love with.

The agency's statement read: "Chen has met someone precious to him and will be getting married. The bride is a non-celebrity, and the wedding will be held privately with only their families in attendance."

"To respect their families' opinions, the wedding and everything related to it will be held privately, so we ask fans and reporters for their kind understanding."

"Chen will continue to work hard as an artist. We ask you to send Chen lots of blessings and messages of celebration."

And the Love Shot singer shared an adorable letter in which he told fans that he found a ‘blessing’ in the girl he wants to ‘spend the rest of my life with’.

‘Hello, this is Chen. I am writing this because I have something to tell our fans. I don't know how to start this, and I'm very nervous. Although these words are not enough, I'm writing this letter because I want to honestly tell our fans, who gave us so much love, first.

‘I have a girlfriend I want to spend the rest of my life with. I was worried and concerned about the situations that would arise as a result of this decision, but I had been discussing with the agency and our members because I wanted to announce the news at least a little bit earlier so I wouldn't surprise you with the sudden news.

‘Then, a blessing came my way. I am also taken aback, as I cannot do what I had planned with the agency and members, but this blessing has given me more strength.

‘I couldn't lose any more time thinking about when or how I should announce this, so I mustered up my courage.

come one's way

表示“发生在某人身上;为某人所经历;降临到某人头上;出现在某人面前”,英文解释为“if something comes your way, it happens to you, or it becomes available”举个🌰:

这个表达在上个月的一根香蕉卖12万美元亚马逊智能音箱劝主人自杀两篇文章中都出现过,比如:第一篇提到的Despite it being Cattelan's first contribution to an art fair in 15 years, the gallery appeared taken aback by the popularity of the artist's latest piece.

Windows 7 official ends this week: what you need to do

Slashgear

Nothing lasts forever, whether good or bad. By Tuesday, one of Microsoft's less controversial Windows releases will finally be put to rest, for better or worse. Windows 7 support for everyone who didn’t buy an extended support package (only available to enterprise customers) will officially end on Tuesday, January 14. And, of course, that means that anyone who wants to continue getting important security fixes and remain on the Windows platform will have to move to Windows 10 sooner rather than later.

release

表示“发行物”,英文解释为“A new release is a new CD, DVD, or movie that has just become available for people to buy or see.”

Of the new releases that are out there now, which do you think are really good?

package

1)作名词,表示“软件包”,英文解释为“a set of related programs for a particulartype of task, sold and used as a single unit”举个🌰:

The system came with a database software package.

2)作动词,表示“包装(产品)”,英文解释为“When a product is packaged, it is putinto containers to be sold.”

The beans are then ground and packaged for sale as ground coffee.

3)作动词,表示“(为使某物吸引人而)包装”,英文解释为“If something is packaged in aparticular way, it is presented or advertised in that way in order to make itseem attractive or interesting.”

A city is like any product, it has to be packaged properly to be attractive to the consumer.

You can still keep using your Windows 7 computer, naturally, as that will continue working up to the end of time. You just won't be getting any updates containing fixes to bugs or even important security patches, which practically means all Windows 7 computers starting Wednesday will be left exposed to all new potential exploits.

patch

表示“(用来完善已有程序的)程序补丁”,英文解释为“a small computer program that can be added to an existing program in order to make the existing program work as it should”举个🌰:

I downloaded a patch from their website.

You have three paths moving forward and if you’re a business that absolutely needs to remain on Windows 7 for as long as possible, there’s an option to buy your way through extended support. It’s expensive, of course, and you pay per device per year. And it won't last long either, just until you're made enough preparations to finally make the jump in 2023.

Not everyone fancies moving up to Windows 10 but the risk of an unprotected Windows outweighs that. Fortunately, there's still a way to get Windows 10 for free but you do have to work a bit for it. You'll need to go to Microsoft's Downloads page, get the Windows 10 installer, and create an installation media to upgrade your PC to Windows 10.

outweigh

1)表示“(在重要性或意义上)超过”,英文解释为“If one thing outweighs another, the first thing is of greater importance, benefit, or significance than the second thing.”

The advantages of this deal largely outweigh the disadvantages.

2)表示“比(某人)重”,英文解释为“If you outweigh someone, you are heavier than them.”

He outweighed her by about 20 kilograms.

Some, however, may have been frightened off Windows 10 with all the news of problematic updates or have a passionate hatred for the direction that Microsoft has taken the operating system. Windows 7's retirement might be an opportunity for such users to venture outside of the Windows world and try out macOS or, if they're really adventurous enough, even Linux.

frighten...off

吓走(或吓跑)”,英文解释为“to make a person or an animal go away by making them feel afraid”举个🌰:

He threatened the intruders with a gun and frightened them off.

吓得不敢(做某事)”,英文解释为“to make sb afraid or nervous so that they no longer want to do sth”举个🌰:

The high prices have frightened off many customers.

venture

1)表示“冒险去(某处)”,英文解释为“If you venture somewhere, you go somewhere that might be dangerous.”

People are afraid to venture out for fear of sniper attacks.

2)表示“冒险(从事活动)”,英文解释为“If you venture into an activity, you do something that involves the risk of failure because it is new and different.”

He enjoyed little success when he ventured into business

3)表示“试探地提出(问题或观点)”,英文解释为“If you venture a question or statement, you say it in an uncertain way because you are afraid it might be stupid or wrong.”

He ventured that plants draw part of their nourishment from the air.
