德威学子喜获全国击剑冠军，将代表中国征战2019击剑世锦赛！| Fencing Champion
击剑，被称作“格斗中的芭蕾”。
16岁的他，热爱击剑，已经获得了无数奖项。
3月，2018中国击剑俱乐部联赛
男子重剑U16组个人冠军；
7月，2018年全国少年儿童击剑赛
U16男子重剑个人冠军；
12月1日，全国击剑俱乐部联赛总决赛中，
他获得AU16组重剑金牌。
近日，他在国家击剑队大集训暨国际青少年比赛选拔赛中，排名第一！
他将代表中国参加
2019世界少年击剑锦标赛和
2019亚洲少年击剑锦标赛。
他就是许庭玮，
苏州德威国际高中学生。
193CM的个子，让许庭玮在同龄人中显得很高大。或许是常年征战各大赛场的缘故，许庭玮个性偏理性与成熟，却又不失活泼、青春。他说：“我更喜欢与高年级的同学玩在一起，与他们共同语言更多一些。”
练剑9年，偏爱赛场的“爽”
7岁，许庭玮就开始学习击剑。一晃，9年已经过去了。
许庭玮出生在一个体育世家：爸爸是击剑教练，母亲也是跆拳道教练，二伯则是国家击剑队金牌教练、女子重剑主教练。即使如此，许庭玮对击剑的热爱并非是家里“填鸭式”地强制硬塞，而是家人悉心启发培养的结果。
“对于击剑，我是很单纯的喜爱，并没有觉得反感。我很喜欢在击剑比赛中的那种感觉，让人非常爽。比赛时，精神要高度集中，不断揣摩对手策略，并及时制定自己的方案。”许庭玮自信地说。
文武双全并不是难事
许庭玮曾入选过江苏省击剑队，但是训练一段时间之后选择了退出。“我还是喜欢在普通学校上课。而且，我不要一眼看到头的未来，我希望我的未来可以有多样化的选择。”
在各大赛事中，他在国外击剑运动员身上看到了不一样的出路——击剑技艺精湛的同时，依然可以有高学历。他偏爱的一位击剑运动员曾获得世界冠军，但这位运动员同时也是世界名校博士。“国外一些厉害的击剑选手，学历很高，也有来自哈佛、斯坦福的。”
今年，他选择来到德威国际高中继续高中学习。“我特别喜欢现在民主、开放的学习氛围，德威的老师严谨又专业。”现在，他在德威如鱼得水，用他的话来说就是“曾经压抑的天性和能量得到了释放”。
他选了喜爱的计算机科学、经济学，还选了游泳、羽毛球、英语社交俱乐部等，还是德威的四大学院之一的队长、学生会学生代表……“有时候击剑比赛会耽误课业，但是德威的时间比较自由，可以灵活安排。”
许庭玮在做烘焙
上学期间，他练剑的时间并不多，基本上平常通过游泳、羽毛球来保持体能，只有在每周五、六、日会专门花1.5小时到2小时训练击剑。对此，许庭玮半开玩笑地说：“可能是脑子比较聪明吧！”不过，基本上每个暑假，他都会到南京的二伯那里集训，“会进行体能训练、协调性训练等，每天有六七个小时的高强度训练。” | |||
因击剑认识了世界的别样精彩
钟爱的击剑，也让许庭玮认识了世界的多样、精彩。
许庭玮小时候，爸爸担任国际赛事裁判出差时，会带着他一同前往。“我记得有一次是去新加坡，我亲身感受了国外不一样的氛围。”此后，也因参加世界性赛事，许庭玮认识了国外不同于国内的精彩。外面的世界对他颇具吸引力。
“大概从初中开始，我基本确定要出国留学，所以高中我选择了德威。”他也把参加美国夏校列入计划中，想提前去了解、感受美国的大学。“我参加夏校不是为了去接触招生官，更多是感受大学氛围，看它是否适合自己。”斯坦福大学是他喜欢的学校之一，原因之一就是斯坦福大学有击剑队，他希望在大学也依然能将击剑继续下去。
参加了无数赛事，也经历了成功与失败，这些都让他内心变得更强大，也更加成熟。小时候比赛输了，许庭玮会哇哇大哭。但是现在不管比赛输赢，他都会冷静分析，总结经验。许庭玮说：“击剑可以让人全面发展，特别是身体和大脑全方位发展。这就是击剑的魅力所在。”

Recently, he ranked the first in the national fencing team training and international youth competition trials!

A student at Dulwich International High School Suzhou.
Being 193cm in height makes Timothy stand out among his peers. Perhaps it is because of the years of competition in various major venues, Timothy's personality is rational and mature, yet lively and youthful. He said: "I prefer to play with senior classmates and share more interests with them."
Practicing fencing for 9 years and love the “thrill” of the game
At the age of 7, Timothy began to learn fencing. In the blink of an eye, 9 years have passed.
Timothy was born into a sports family: Dad is a fencing instructor, his mother is also a Taekwondo coach, and his uncle is a national fencing team gold medal coach and a women's epee head coach. Even so, Timothy’s love of fencing is not the result of forced suffocation at home, but the result of careful family-inspired training.
"For fencing, I am very simple and I don't feel disgusted. I like the feeling in the fencing competition very much. It is very cool. During the game, the spirit should be highly concentrated, constantly try to figure out the opponent's strategy, and make a plan for yourself in time." Timothy said confidently.
Civil and military is not difficult
Timothy was selected for the Jiangsu Province Fencing Team, but chose to quit after training for a while. “I still like to attend classes in ordinary schools. And, I don’t want to see the future of the head at first glance, I hope that my future can have a variety of choices.”
In major events, he saw a different way out in foreign fencing athletes - while the skill of fencing is superb, he can still have a high degree of education. One of his favorite fencing athletes has won the world championship, but this athlete is also a doctor of the world famous school. "Some great fencing players abroad have high academic qualifications, as well as from Harvard and Stanford."
This year, he chose to come to Dulwich International High School Suzhou to continue his high school studies. "I especially like the democratic and open learning atmosphere. Dulwich's teacher is rigorous and professional." Now, he is in the water, and in his words, "the once suppressed nature and energy have been released."
He chose his favorite courses: computer science and economics, and also joined swimming, badminton teams, and English social clubs, he is also the captain of one of Dulwich’s four houses, student prefects of the student union." Sometimes fencing competitions will delay the coursework, but Timothy's time is relatively free and can be arranged flexibly."
During his school days, he did not practice his sword during weekdays. He basically maintained his physical fitness through swimming and badminton. He only spent 1.5 hours to 2 hours training fencing every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In this regard, Timothy said half-jokingly: "Maybe the brain is smarter!" However, basically every summer, he will go to the his uncle's professional training school in Nanjing to train. "There will be physical training, coordination training, etc., six times a day. Seven hours of intense training."
Know the world’s wonderful things because of fencing.
The beloved fencing also made Timothy know the diversity and excitement of the world.
When Timothy was a child, Dad would take him with him when he was on a business trip. "I remember once I went to Singapore. I personally felt the different atmosphere in foreign countries." Since then, because of participating in world events, Timothy has met foreign countries different from the domesticones. The outside world is attractive to him.
"Probably from junior high school, I basically decided to study abroad, so I chose Dulwich in high school." He also wanted to attend summer schools in the United States, and wanted to know and feel the American university in advance. “I didn’t want to attend summer school to get in touch with the admissions officer. I felt more about the university atmosphere and see if it suits me.” Stanford University is one of his favorite schools. One of the reasons is that Stanford has a fencing team. He hopes to continue fencing when he goes to university.
Participating in countless events and experiencing successes and failures have made his heart stronger and more mature. When he lost in the game, Timothy will cry when he was little. But now regardless of whether the game wins or loses, he will calmly analyze and sum up experience.
Timothy said: "Fencing can make people develop in an all-round way, especially the full development of the body and brain. This is the charm of fencing."
