The 2018 Beijing Burger Festival
All ages. The biggest burger festival to ever grace Beijing returns in its sixth year at Galaxy Soho. There are currently 40 burger vendors and 20 drinks vendors working away to bring everyone the best of their meaty and thirst-quenching products. There’ll also be ice cream, juice, and other refreshments to keep you feasting to your heart’s content. 2018’s Beijing Burger Fest is all about rock ‘n’ roll, so expect high-energy performances and music and enough grub and drinks to keep you pogoing throughout the weekend.

Aidi School Summer Music Concert
All ages. Aidi School pays tribute to traditional culture with a concert on June 12. The Aidi School Summer Music Concert allows them to use music as a bridge for culture. The program covers Peking opera, local theatre, and folk songs and dances, and will be staged at the Forbidden City Concert Hall.

Shanghai Ballet Swan Lake
All ages. The Shanghai Ballet rehearsed and performed a brand new Swan Lake in 2015 to commemorate the 120th anniversary of this great ballet work. This was the first time that Swan Lake was performed in a theater with a deluxe swan flock lineup, not only in China but also in the world. See it again at the NCPA on June 17-18.

Blood Donation Drive at BJU

As long as you’re a woman who weighs more than 45 kg or a man who weighs more than 55 kg, you should have plenty of blood to spare for someone in need. On June 14, Beijing United Family Hospital will be holding a blood drive for everyone who has healthy blood to spare and want to add some goodwill to the universe. UCCA Art Film Screenings 2018 Croisements Audio: “France May 1968”
All ages. Coinciding with its exhibition about the May 68 movement in France, UCCA collaborates with the Institut Français de Pékin to present “France May 1968,” a series of screenings that probe the social and historical realities of that fateful month. Films include Romain Goupil’s Half a Life; Jean-Luc Godard’s Pierrot le Fou; Louis Malle’s May Fools, and parts one and two of Chris Marker’s A Grin Without a Cat. The language of the screening will be French with English and Chinese subtitles.

Emotional Freedom Friday
Adults. June is a month of change as school ends and summer travels start for many. Along with the change comes fear. This month, the Beijing Mindfulness Centre will focus on releasing fear that causes us anxiety, worry, and troublesome thoughts. The last EFT class will be on June 22 and returns on August 17. The sessions delivered with gentle and skilled guidance of EFT practitioner Bo Batuwangala.
