Shouqi Implements New Sanitation Measures for Its Drivers

As we read up on daily COVID-19 news and updates, we’re rapidly becoming experts in virus prevention ourselves. Families have their own disinfecting routine when coming home and hospitals have recommended avoiding public transportation, especially for those who are expecting a baby.
While we’re already accustomed to using Didi, recently I’ve discovered another car service that’s putting in extra precautions which make germaphobes like myself a tad more comfortable when riding around the city.
My recent experiences with Shouqi Limousines and Chauffeurs(首汽约车)has been nothing but spectacular. Their drivers make the extra effort to find your exact location and so far, I’ve only ever encountered polite drivers sharply dressed in their black and white suits.
With the current COVID-19 outbreak, Shouqi has installed thick plastic partitions in all their cars as well as require all their drivers to wear face masks. Their driver tells me that according to company policy, they’re required to disinfect their cars at least once per day and drivers are encouraged to disinfect their cars throughout the day when they have free time. Every three days, they bring their cars in for a deep clean, which means that you’ll never be picked up by a dusty or smelly Shouqi car.
Signing up for Shouqi literally takes seconds.
After you’ve downloaded the app, accept their terms and conditions and enter your phone number. You’ll receive a four-digit verification code.
Once you’ve entered the code, you’re done.
Shouqi will start you off with a pack of discount vouchers that you can use immediately. The interface is set up the same as Didi and is completely in English.
Extra perks:
They offer the option to request half-day or 8-hour rentals of sedans, or business vans for private charter services. This comes in handy when you’re looking to go on a day trip somewhere that’s not abundant in taxis.
On average, for a half-day sedan, Shouqi charges a prepaid RMB 477.
