CISB Partners With UniPath for 21st Century Virtual Career Expo

Are you a parent feeling overwhelmed by the thought of your young graduate-to-be entering today’s ever-dynamic job market? Thankfully, those dramatic shifts can quickly become exciting opportunities under the right guidance.

The Canadian International School of Beijing is delighted to partner with UniPath on the 21st Century Virtual Career Expo.

University and career guidance counseling organization UniPath aims to offer such opportunity-seizing insights with its inaugural Online Career Expo from April 25 – May 8, 2022 (China Standard Time). The event will feature an eclectic mix of experts, industry titans and prodigious rising stars from a number of fields, answering meaningful questions that are sure to inspire would be-grads and reassure supportive parents alike.

The expo boasts a number of exciting aspects that career-curious students and mentoring parents can glean first-hand expert knowledge and experience from. Viewers can enjoy online panel discussions focused on 21st century skill sets, live Q&As with professional speakers, and in-depth interviews with industry insiders about the career particulars and education and training needed for various professions.

Livestream Q&As and Panel Discussions (May 7-8)

The series of live question and answer sessions — hosted by experienced broadcasters and media professionals — will feature a who’s who of industry insiders sharing practical information about their career paths and professions in general. Viewers can learn what a “day in the life” of some of China’s biggest successes is like, and learn about the first steps to embark down similar paths.

Among the esteemed guests of the May 7 (Mandarin) and May 8 (English)  livestreams: top-tier global traders, medical professionals, hospitality leaders at one of Beijing’s most exclusive hotels, accomplished PR professionals with well-heeled clients, innovative IT gurus, deeply knowledgeable urban planners, boundary pushing fine artists and more.

Those industry veterans will be balanced with a panel of young alumni from UniPath affiliated campus the Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB; which will also host the online event) who will share relatable insights about beginning their post-secondary and early career journeys with viewers.

Aside from this alumni panel, a separate discussion panel featuring industry leaders will also be available.  Both panels will focus on the question “What 21st century employability skills are required for the career and jobs in the future?”

The Job Interview Series

A multitude of richly informative, professionally produced pre-recorded UniPath “Job Interview Series” videos are being posted on the company’s platform. These videos go in-depth with Beijing movers and shakers from a range of fields, bringing young soon-to-be-grads and their dutiful parents up to speed on the possibilities awaiting in those exciting careers, and the education and 21-st century skills required.

The guests run the gamut, from a legendary event planner that has worked on both Beijing Olympics and some of music’s most prestigious awards ceremonies; a Chinese agricultural innovator who is championing AI and genetics as the future of readying healthy and safe food; a public safety, law enforcement and entrepreneurial dynamo that has launched a number of successful ventures in China and North America; a costume designer and fashion director for some of China’s biggest film and television productions; the proprietors of two of Beijing’s top F&B businesses (whose insights will be useful for young coeds working at restaurants to earn wages between classes; or who wish to launch culinary ventures of their own) and much more.

The UniPath team in partnership with CISB is proud to host this expo and launch live and pristinely produced pre-recorded content for viewers. We understand the Beijing International community is eager to learn more about careers, post-secondary education and 21st century skills.
