Italian Comfort Food at Low Prices in Shunyi

Want quality comfort food plus a huge wine selection without ever leaving Shunyi? Yes, please!

Having been in business for almost a decade, La Mezzaluna is a local community favorite. And with good reason: The Italian eatery offers all your favorite comfort foods – no fuss, no muss, and all for a decent price. Here, it’s all about flavors and not about the show.

From their brick oven pizzas that range around RMB 70-100 to their wide selection of pasta and the few (but very delicious) appetizers, they’ve got something that every picky eater at our table could appreciate.

My picky toddler devoured the handmade ricotta and spinach ravioli (RMB 79) and pesto pasta (RMB 69) without stopping, and followed up by licking her dessert plate clean…

La Mezzaluna has multiple locations around Beijing, but for those living in Shunyi, this one’s easier to find. They’ve also got a nice little outdoor seating area equipped with cool mist that sprays during the hot summer days, making it the perfect little afternoon hangout.

Pro Tip:
For dessert lovers, their lava cake and apple pie are absolutely divine!

Best of all, for those dining out with young kids, they’ve got a small play corner right at the entrance! If you’re going with a larger party, call ahead and book the table right next to it. It’s their private table and there’s a minimum consumption charge of RMB 1,000, but if you know you’re going to be there for a while this is the only table that’s within eyesight of the kids’ play corner.
