生活家园

There is a place where nature abounds with the fresh fragrance of grass and soil, crisscrossed mountainous roads intersecting dense camphor trees, bubbling creeks scattered with rocks, moss and tadpoles and the sound of birdsong.

有这样一个地方，空气中弥漫着青草和泥土的芬芳，纵横交错的山路上茂密的樟树肆意生长，咕噜噜冒着泡的小河里散布着岩石、苔藓和小蝌蚪，还有鸟鸣声萦绕。

This is the village of Yaojiagou in Yangxian county in Hanzhong, Shaanxi province. Forty years ago, it was the habitat for the world’s last seven existing crested ibises. Today, it has become a model of the harmony between humans and wildlife.

这个地方就是陕西省汉中市洋县的姚家沟村。四十年前，这里是世界上现存的最后七只朱鹮的栖息地。而在今天，它已成为人类与野生动植物和谐相处的典范。

四宝之一

The crested ibises, one of the four treasures of the Qinling Mountains, used to be widely distributed in East Asia and in broad area of Siberia. In the 20th century, it disappeared one after another on the Korean Peninsula and in Japan and other places. In 1981, experts found seven wild crested ibises in Yaojiagou, Yangxian county,Shaanxi province, a place in deep Qinling. In the past 40 years, the population of crested ibises has gone through from “still existing” to “under protection”,“growing” to “rebounding”, and their habitats continue to expand.

朱鹮是秦岭的四大珍宝之一，曾经广泛分布在东亚和西伯利亚的广阔地区。在20世纪，它在朝鲜半岛和日本等地相继失去踪迹。1981年，有专家在秦岭深处的陕西省洋县姚家沟发现了7只野生朱鹮。在过去的40年中，朱鹮的数量从“仍然存在”到“受到保护”，从“生长”到“复兴”，其栖息地也在不断扩大。

为了保护朱鹮生长，中国在就地保护、食物供给、人工繁育及野外放飞等方面做出了突出的贡献。It can be said that China’s protection of crested ibises is a paragon in the world’s history of preserving endangered wildlife.

可以说，中国对朱鹮的保护是世界保护濒危野生动植物史上的一个典范。

那么就让我们来看看当地政府和居民保护朱鹮的具体措施都有哪些吧~

保护措施1.就地保护 Onsite protectionThe secret for the rare and inspirational case of successfully saving crested ibises from a small population is the country’s onsite protection approach adopted at the very beginning.  在现存朱鹮数量极少的情况下对其进行有效保护是一件罕见且令人振奋的成就，而这得益于一开始政府提出的“就地保护”政策。The Yangxian government issued a series of emergency notices on protecting crested ibises, which prohibited local residents from hunting, cutting down trees, setting off explosives in the mountains, or using fertilizers in the birds’ foraging areas to preserve natural wetlands and winter paddy fields. The main habitat of crested ibises was thusly protected.
Later, Yangxian established the Qinling No 1 protection station and sent four people to guard the seven birds in Yaojiagou for 24 hours day and night.洋县政府发布了一系列有关保护朱鹮的紧急通知，包括禁止当地居民狩猎、砍伐树木或在山上引爆炸药。为了保护天然湿地和冬季稻田，政府也不允许在鸟类的觅食区使用化肥。朱鹮的主要栖息地因此而得到了保护。此后，洋县还建立了秦岭第一保护站，并派四个人来日夜守卫姚家沟的七只朱鹮。

2.食物供给 Food supply

Another major protection measure at that time was feeding crested ibises with fresh loaches especially when there was harsh weather such as drought and extreme cold.The reproduction of the crested ibises has a close relationship with food.The government had signed agreements with local farmers to stop using fertilizers in the farmland to ensure the safety of microorganisms, loaches and other food for the crested ibises.

另一个主要的保护措施是用新鲜的泥鳅喂养朱鹮，尤其是在干旱和严寒等恶劣天气下。

朱鹮的再生与其所需的食物关系密切。政府已与当地农民签署协议，要求停止在农田中使用化肥，以确保微生物，泥鳅和其他食物的安全。

3.人工繁育与野外放飞 Artificial breeding and reintroduction

The country began the artificial breeding of crested ibises in 1990 with the establishment of the Shaanxi Crested Ibis Rescue and Breeding Center where the baby birds were hatched and sick and injured wild crested ibises received timely treatment.

洋县于1990年建立陕西朱鹮人工救助和繁育中心，从事人工繁育朱鹮的工作，在那里，幼鸟被孵化，生病和受伤的野生朱鹮可以得到及时治疗。

To ensure the water quality of the Hanjiang River, the village, with 601 households and 2,033 villagers, has strictly implemented measures such as turning farmland back into forests, conserving water and soil, and restricting industrial development.为保证汉江水质，全村601户2033户村民，严格执行退耕还林、水土保持、限制工业发展等措施。在人与自然共同谱写的故事中，从来都是付出爱而收获爱的美好过程。我们为自然生命而奉献，自然便回馈给我们希望和光明。愿未来，汉中与朱鹮的故事、中国与濒危物种的故事、世界与自然的故事，依然能不断上演。背面同样精彩
