“艺术·符号:无界共生”将于 2022 年 9 月 10 日 至 10 月 9 日 在上海多伦现代美术馆展出。本次展览由上海多伦现代美术馆和德国驻上海总领事馆文化教育处联合主办，由安·帕恩休森博士担任策展人。展览作为 2022 国际无障碍文化节(DAWA)的一部分将呈现来自中国、德国、瑞士、芬兰、新加坡、韩国、美国的16组艺术家带来的影像、声音、摄影、装置和行为表演作品。

“艺术·符号：无界共生”将呈现围绕聋人文化和听人文化展开的多元艺术探索与形式。参展艺术家从不同语言和交流体系出发，探索其差异性、相似性和特殊性。既不掩饰自己的视角，也不隐藏自己的局限性。以此，他们试图在现有边界内打开更多新的可能性。

凭借独特的艺术天赋和潜能，艺术家们围绕声音、音乐、言语、手语、符号、书面语言展开实践。作为一场跨学科展览，“艺术·符号：无界共生”项目尝试打破舞蹈、行为、音乐、语言、文学和绘画的边界，并指向聋人文化与听人文化之间的联系和交集。在这一过程中，也让人们更深刻地看到其背后的社会和文化特征。

Presented in collaboration between Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art and Department of Culture and Education of the German Consulate General Shanghai, Art and Signs. Deaf Culture / Hearing Culture will be on view at Duolun Museum of Modern Art from September 10 to October 9, 2022. The exhibition is curated by Dr. An Paenhuysen. As a part of 2022 DAWA, International Festival of Inclusive Culture,Sixteen artists/artist collectives from China, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Singapore, Korea and the United States are featured in the exhibition, presenting works in the forms of video, sound, photography, installation and performance.
Art and Signs. Deaf Culture / Hearing Culture presents art forms operating at the interface of deaf culture and hearing culture. It showcases works by artists who take as their point of departure various systems of language and communication, consciously working with their differences, similarities and specificities. Concealing neither their own perspective nor the limitations thereof, the artists seek to open up new possibilities within existing boundaries.
The works represented in the exhibition are by artists whose practices revolve around sound, music, speech, sign language, signs, written language and their inherent artistic potential. Through their diverse and inspiring practices the boundaries between dance, performance, music, language, literature and painting begin to shift. Art and Signs raises the question of connections and intersections between deaf culture and hearing culture. In the process, social, cultural and political hierarchies become visible.
