每年农历八月十五日，中国人都会庆祝中秋节这一传统节日。
Every year, Chinese people celebrate the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar.
中秋节我国民间有家家吃月饼的习俗。美味可口的月饼象征合家团圆、欢聚。

Moon cake festival[ˈfɛstəvl] takes place on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese Han calendar['kæləndɚ] on the night of the full moon. During this period, Chinese people give offerings['ɔfərɪŋz] to the moon to express thanks for its role[rol] in the harvest['hɑrvɪst] and seasons.
And they also give offerings to a deity['deəti] called Chang'e. Legend has it that one year, the ten suns rose in the sky together. And it got hot. But a hero called Yi who was really, really, really, really good at archery['ɑrtʃəri] shot down nine of the suns, saving everyone's harvest.
An admirer[əd'maɪərɚ] of Yi gave him a special drink that would live forever. Yi loved his wife Chang'e and didn't want to live forever unless those two could be together. So he gave his wife the drink to look after.
On August 15th, an apprentice[ə'prɛntɪs] of Yi, called Peng Meng, broke into Yi's house and tried to steal the drink from Chang'e. Now, for reasons known only to herself, Chang'e drank the drink, became immortal[ɪ'mɔrtl], flew to the moon. Anyway, Yi came home, realized what had happened, and was very sad. So obviously ['ɑbvɪəsli] the next step was to give offerings to the Moon.
