项目介绍 Programme Introduction

香港中文大学(深圳)人文社科学院开设翻译博士研究生课程,旨在培养具备开展翻译研究和理论创新的高层次翻译专业人才,更好地服务我国跨文化交流的需求和引领翻译人才的培养。依托香港中文大学(深圳)人文社科学院国际化的师资队伍和课程设置,本课程将为学生提供翻译理论与研究方法、翻译与教学研究、翻译与文化研究、翻译与传媒研究、翻译与认知研究、翻译与法律研究以及口译研究等多个基础理论和交叉学科的训练,培养学生批判性思维和科研创新能力,为翻译学科发展及人文社科领域的知识创新做出重大贡献。


The Mphil-Ph.D. in Translation Studies Programme aims to cultivate high-level innovative talents in the field of translation and interpreting. Outstanding master's degree graduates with a background in translation, linguistics, literature or other relevant humanities and social sciences fields are welcome to apply for the programme.

学制与学费Duration and Fee


博士研究生课程规定的修读年限为4-7年;

博士研究生学费为人民币11.5万/年,香港中文大学(深圳)将为优秀申请人提供优厚的奖学金及教研津贴(以最终收到的录取信通知为准)。


The required study duration for Ph.D. is 4-7 years.

The tuition fee for the Mphil-Ph.D. programme is RMB 115,000 per year. The Mphil-Ph.D. programme of CUHKSZ will offer scholarships and teaching & research allowances to outstanding applicants (please refer to the formal offer letter for final information).

Research Areas: Translation Studies, Linguistics and Cultural Studies

As a principal proponent of China’s education in translation and interpreting studies, Prof. WANG Lidi is a member of the National Steering Committee on Master’s Degree Education in Translation and Interpreting Studies in China. He also serves as a member of the Advisory Board for China Aptitude Tests for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI). Prof. Wang is active in research and has extensive links with the academic communities at home and abroad. He is coeditor-in-chief of Le Monde de la Traduction and a member of Advisory Committee of Compilation and Translation Review, National Academy for Educational Research, Taiwan. Internationally, he is a member of the Executive Committee of the UN Outreach Programme with Universities and also a member of Conference Internationale permanente d’Instituts Universitaires de Traducteurs et Interpretes (CIUTI).

Prof. Douglas ROBINSON 

Ph.D. Supervisor

Research Areas: Translation Studies, Comparative and World Literature, Literary Theory, Language Theory, Rhetorical Theory

Douglas Robinson was born and raised in the United States, and served as Professor of English at the University of Mississippi for 21 years, but has spent 14 years living and working in Finland, and translates mainly literary, dramatic, and cinematic texts from Finnish—and also two years in Russia and 12 years in Greater China. He is a prolific scholar, with 30 books, around 130 articles, and numerous book-length translations from Finnish, including works by Finland's two greatest novelists, Aleksis Kivi (Heath Cobblers and Kullervo, two plays from 1864, published in 1993, and The Brothers Seven, his great 1870 novel, published in 2017) and Volter Kilpi (Gulliver's Voyage to Phantomimia, published in 2020).

 

After teaching at the University of Jyvaskyla (1975-1981) and the University of Tampere (1983-1989) in Finland and the University of Mississippi in the United States (1989-2010), he came to Hong Kong as Tong Tin Sun Chair Professor and Head of English at Lingnan University (2010-2012), then moved to Hong Kong Baptist University as Chair Professor of English (2012-2020) and Dean of Arts (2012-2015). Upon his official retirement in 2020 he became Emeritus Professor of Translation, Interpreting, and Intercultural Studies at HKBU and Professor of Translation Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen).

Prof. ZHU Chunshen

Research Areas: Translation Studies, Poetics, Applied Linguistics, Stylistics, Computer-Aided Translator Training

Chunshen Zhu has taught translation since 1982, at Fujian Normal University (1982-87), the National University of Singapore (1993-98), and then the City University of Hong Kong (1998-2017), before joining the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) as a professor of translation studies in 2017. He is also an Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Translation, Hong Kong Baptist University, Guest Professor of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Adjunct Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, as well as an editorial board member for Chinese Translators Journal and ITT, and an International Advisory Board member for The Translator. Since 1986 and especially after receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham in 1993, he has published constantly on translation studies as well as other subjects in both English and Chinese in journals such as Chinese Translators JournalBritish Journal of AestheticsMETATargetMultilinguaTTRJournal of Pragmatics, and ITT. He has won the Stephen C. Soong Translation Studies Memorial Award three times (2000, 2001, and 2006). His recent publications include Fathoming Translation as Discursive Experience: Theorization and application (Routledge, 2021) and translations of Oscar Wilde’s De Profundis (《自深深處》, Yilin, 2008, 2015, 2022) and Logan Pearsall Smith’s All Trivia (《浮生瑣記》, Yilin, 2022), among others. Currently, he is co-editing a collection of his co-authored papers on textual accountability in translation for Routledge.

Prof. CHAN Ho Yan Clara

Research Areas: Translation Theory and Practice, Professional Translation, Language and Law, Translation Pedagogy

CHAN Ho Yan Clara is Associate Professor of the School of Humanities and Social Science, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Queensland, Australia, MA and BA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and LLB from Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research interests focus on language and law, especially legal translation, legal terminology and bilingual law drafting. She has published widely in Translation Studies and Legal Linguistics, with eight monographs and dozens of academic papers.

Prof. LI Lan

Ph.D. Supervisor

University of Exeter, Ph.D. 

Research Areas: Lexicology and Lexicography, Corpus Study, Metaphor Study, Neologisms, Language in Computer-mediated Communication, Professional Communication

Prof. LI Lan works as the Director of the Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.  She is an Associate Professor with MPhil and Ph.D. degrees in Applied Linguistics from the University of Exeter, UK.  She is also the Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, UK. She worked at Hong Kong Polytechnic University for nearly 20 years before joining CUHK(SZ).  Her research interests and publications cover lexicology, lexicography, metaphor study, professional discourse, corpus linguistics, and sociolinguistics. She has supervised 8 doctorate students and worked as a PhD external examiner at different universities. She is the Copy Editor of Lexicography, the Journal of Asialex, and a reviewer of a number of international journals.

申请要求 Entry Requirements

翻译博士申请者须符合以下条件:

- 具有笔译、口译、语言学、比较文学,并具有笔译或口译实践经验,或其他相关方面社会科学背景的优秀硕士生,毕业于国内外重点院校的相关硕士专业;

- 具有被国家教育部认可的大学硕士学位或学士学位,平均成绩达到B以上;或GPA达到3.0以上(满分4);对于按照百分制计算成绩的学校,要求成绩达到80%以上(含80%);或不低于乙等荣誉;

- 具有相关工作经历(优先考虑);

- 具有科研成果和发表过有影响力的学术论文(优先考虑);

- 满足下列的英语语言能力要求(符合以下条件之一):

1. 完成以英文为授课语言的学位课程;

2. 在香港高级程度会考(AS-Level)或香港高等程度会考英语科目取得合格分数;

3. 获得香港中等文凭考试(HKDSE)英文科目取得4级或以上成绩;            

4. 托福(网考不低于105分);

5. 雅思(学术类)(不低于7分);

6. GMAT(语文不低于21分);

7. 取得英语国家及地区颁发的专业资格或资格证明。

*最终解释权归人文社科学院所有。


报名费

人民币300 元(一经缴费,不设退费)。


For the Ph.D. programme, the applicant shall have:

- Educational background in translation, interpretation, linguistics, comparative literature, with practical experience in translation or interpretation, or other relevant social science backgrounds.

- A Master's degree from a recognized university; or graduated from a recognized university and obtained a Bachelor's degree, normally with honours not lower than Second Class; or graduated from an honours programme of a recognized university with a Bachelor's degree, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than “B”; or completed a course of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to an honours degree.

- Fulfillment of one of the following English language proficiency requirements:

1. At least 105 for TOEFL Internet-Based Test (iBT);

2. At least 7 for IELTS (Academic).

- Relevant working experience (preferred).

- Scientific research works and influential academic papers (preferred).
