could you introduce yourself simply?可以简单的介绍一下自己吗？

My name is Alondra Bentley, I am a half English and half Spanish singer songwriter. I was born in England but have been living in Spain most of my life. My parents decided to call me Alondra, it’s the name for the bird skylark in Spanish, it is a very unusual name for a person in Europe but somehow it makes perfect sense once you know that the bird Alondra is known for its singing and singing is after all my passion.

我是Alondra Bentley，是一半英国的一半西班牙的创作歌手。我出生在英国，但我大部分时间生活在西班牙。我父母决定叫我Alondra，它是西班牙云雀的名字，在欧洲很少有人叫这个名字，但某种程度非常棒的是，Alondra这种鸟恰巧是以歌声而闻名，而唱歌倾注了我全部情感。

Could you describe how did you get to the music?能介绍下你是怎么走上音乐这条路的？

I grew up in a house filled with music, my parents and sisters played instruments and listened to music constantly, I was fascinated by it since I was a child and one day decided to have a go on my dad is guitar, I am self-taught in playing guitar and singing and soon found myself trying to write my own songs.

我在一个充满音乐的房子里长大，我父母和姐妹都弹奏乐器，所以会不断的听到音乐，我从小就对音乐很着迷，某一天就决定拿起我父亲的吉他玩，我的吉他和唱歌都是自学的，很快我就可以尝试写自己的歌曲。

What do you usually like in the spare time?平时有些什么爱好？

I love to do Yoga. My dad used to be a yoga teacher so I practiced it at home as a child, I stopped doing it for several years and only recently decided to get back to it, it is so important to make the effort to connect with your own body and mind, makes a huge difference on how we see ourselves and what we do.

我喜欢做瑜伽。我父亲过去是一名瑜伽教练，所以很小的时候我就在家里练习，有几年我都没有练习了，只是最近决定把它拾起来，尝试与自己的身体和思想交流是非常重要的，这在我们如何看待自己以及我们做什么的事情上会有巨大的不同。

Do you have any other work except music ?除了音乐，有没有从事过其他工作？

I am a teacher in a Montessori School. Montessori is a teaching method where the child has its own space and rhythm and learns about practical life, maths, language and the environment through the use of a carefully designed material adapted to the child needs. I also use music and art, they are my two main methods to teach.

我在Montessori学校是一名老师。Montessori是培养孩子有自己的空间和作息规律的一种教学方法，通过精心设计并且适应儿童需求的材料学习生活日常、数学、语言和环境。我也用音乐和艺术，这是我教的两种主要方法。

Do you have any other favorite bands or singers?有没有其他喜欢的乐队或者歌手？

I have a very long list, most of them are from the sixties or before, the sixties is a very important time for me in music because of artists like Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Donovan, Sandy Denny, Karen Dalton, Joni Mitchell, The Kinks, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Nick Drake, The Pentangle, The Lovin?Spoonful, Scott Walker, Pink Floyd, Fairport Convention?I also adore Jazz singers like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone etc.

我有一长串喜欢的，大部分是60年代或更早以前，60年代的音乐对我来说是非常重要的一个时期，像Simon、Garfunkel、The Beatles、The Beach Boys、Donovan、 Sandy Denny、Karen Dalton、Joni Mitchell、The Kinks、Leonard Cohen、Neil Young、Nick Drake、The Pentangle、 Scott Walker, Pink Floyd这些艺术家，我也崇拜Jazz singers like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone等等。

Are there any person or events that have a big impact on the music?什么人或者事件对音乐创作有很大影响？

Apart from music I am very inspired by cinema, it is a great media, its a form of art that brings all together, literature, music, photography, theatre. I learn a lot from it and very often inspires my music or triggers an idea for a song.

除了音乐我受电影的启发很大，这是个很好的媒介，是一种融合了文学、音乐、摄影的艺术。我从中学到了很多，它会经常启发我的音乐或者触发一首歌曲的灵感。

What is the inspiration for every album?每一张专辑的灵感来源是什么？

Anything really, I obviously reflect about the big questions in life like love, death or nature but I’m also interested in the little things in life, even in mundane things, I think they are key to understand the other bigger questions and we meet with them day to day so they have a huge impact on us and therefore in our art. Some times I even find it necessary to talk about cleaning your house, I’m aware it sounds a bi silly to do so but I find there can also be magic or bigger ideas hidden in the mundane and the insignificant.

任何都是，我显然表达的都是生活中像爱情、死亡或者自然这些大问题，但我也对生活中的小事情感兴趣，甚至是平凡的事情，我想它们是理解其他大问题的关键，我们一天天的遇到他们，他们对我们有巨大的影响，艺术上尤是。有时候我甚至觉得有必要谈谈打扫房间，我知道这听起来很蠢，但我发现也能在其中找到不可思议的东西或者有更大的想法隐藏在世俗和微不足道中。

What do you want to convey to the audience in this musical style?通过这样的音乐风格想传达给听众什么？

I think music style can be directly related to ways of life and states of mind. Music can say many things, it can help you feel excitement, make you calm, melancholic, happy or psyched. What you say and how you say it makes a big difference to me, I listen to music constantly and think a lot about how it makes me feel, the effect it has on me and how important it is to choose carefully what you let in your life.

我觉得音乐风格直接与生活方式和心态有关。音乐能够诉说很多东西，它能让你兴奋、使你平静、忧郁、高兴或者激动。你说什么和怎么说对我来说有很大不同，我经常听音乐，总是思考它是如何让我有了感觉并影响我，仔细选择你要什么样的生活是多么重要。

What’s one of the biggest lessons you’ve learned in your time as a musician?作为一个音乐人，你认为在这个过程中学到最大的教训之一是什么？

To appreciate how extraordinary it is to be able to sing, play music and share all of that with other people, it really is a powerful feeling, I see it as an enormous gift and feel very grateful for it.

非常感谢能够唱歌、做音乐还有和其他人分享，这一切是多么奇特，这真的是一种强烈的感觉，我觉得这对我来说是非常大的礼物，并为此常怀感恩之心。

Do you have any memorable experience after several years of performance?经过这几年演出，有没有比较难忘的经历？

Many; traveling is a good example, music has taken me all over the world and that is the best experience posible, discovering places, meeting people and learning about their culture, I find it fascinating, learning constantly, opening of your eyes and making your ideas wider.

很多，旅行就是一个很好的例子，音乐带我到世界各地，这是最好的经验，发现各个地方，遇见人们以及学习他们的文化，我觉得很有意思，不断的学习，打开你的视野，拓宽你的思维。

If you can't make music, do you think what will you do?如果不能做音乐，你认为你会从事什么职业？

I love sculpture, I studied Fine Arts and love anything to do with working with the hands, I would love to go back to it if I had the time.

我喜欢雕塑，我学习过美术，也热爱一切动手的工作，如果我有时间，我也想回去做这些。

Is there anything you haven't done with yet that you'd like to?有没有你喜欢却一直还没有做的事情？

I’ve never learnt how to dance, I would love that. I would also love to learn Chinese! It’s so difficult!

我一直没有学习如何跳舞，我很喜欢。我也想学中文，不过太难了！

Do you prefer England or Spain?你更喜欢英国还是西班牙？

They’re very different, I love things about the two countries, Spain is all about being outside in the streets under the sunshine, its very cheerful and the cities are very alive, almost all year round and even at night.I love nature in England, it’s so amazing, everything is green, with flowers everywhere, the smell of rain and grass makes you feel in contact with the earth and seasons and very defined.

它们非常不同，我喜欢两个国家的东西。西班牙所有的美都在户外，阳光照射下的街道，这让人非常愉悦，城市也很有活力，几乎一年四季都是甚至是晚上。我喜欢英国的大自然，它特别棒，所有的东西都是绿的，遍地花朵，雨水和草的味道让你感觉与地球和四季更亲近，而且那感觉非常清晰。

What do you like best about China? 最喜欢中国的什么？

I distinctly remember the smells, the sense of smell goes really wild in China, I remember walking down the streets receiving all kinds of information of types of food and plants. It really had an impact because they were all new to me, I found it very exciting. In our last tour we visited eleven cities; China is so big and has so many different climates in the same country, there’s also enormous contrasts in the rural and traditional China and the mega futuristic architecture of new buildings, I had never seen anything like it.

I was also amazed by he colors in the sky, we first arrived in Beijing at dawn, I remember an extreme orange sky that slowly turned pink, it was an amazing first impression.

我清楚的记得那个气息，在中国疯狂的嗅觉。我记得走在街道上接收到各式各样各种类型的食物和植物的信息。这真的产生了影响，因为对我来说都是全新的，我觉得很激动。上一次巡演我们去了十一个城市，中国这么大，在同一个国家有这么多不同的气候，农村和传统的中国以及宏大的新兴未来主义建筑之间也有很大的差异，像这样的我从来没有见过。

我也惊讶于天空的颜色，我们首先抵达在北京的黎明，我记得极度橙色的天空慢慢变成粉红色，第一印象真实太神奇了。

Which city or region do you prefer in China?比较喜欢中国的哪个城市或者地区？

Difficult question, I guess it depends in the time of the year, because the heat and the cold can get quiet extreme. I wouldn’t mind changing from one place to another, also that way I could eat all the different types of food, they’re all so good. Hot pot was a bit too spicy for my stomach though, so probably wouldn’t eat it very often, but I absolutely loved the flavor.

Nacho Ruiz, from Nine Stories. We are married, play music together and love to travel. We enjoyed our previous visit to China so much, we can’t wait to come again this summer.

What do you think of the music market in Spain?你认为西班牙目前的音乐市场是怎样的？

It’s not a huge industry like it is in England for example so that means its more limited but it also has a good side that is we all know each other and its very easy to know how things work, that helps you to make decisions about your career. I’m very lucky because I have the record label at home, Nacho is the director of our record label so Im very well looked after.

像在英国并不是一个很大的产业，所以意味着更局限，但也有好的一面就是我们都了解彼此，很容易就知道事情如何运作，这有助于对你的职业做出选择。我很幸运，因为我在家里有唱片公司，Nacho是我们唱片公司的主管，所以我被照顾的很好。

Which part of the tour you prefer？比较喜欢巡演中的哪个环节？

I love to discover new places, this time we will know quite a few new cities so I’m very excited about those.

我喜欢发现新的地方，这次我们会了解一些新的城市，所以我非常兴奋。

What books or movies do you like recently? Is there any recommendation？最近喜欢看什么书或者电影？有没有可以推荐的？

I loved Jim Jarmush’s last film, it’s called Paterson, about a bus driver who is also a poet, I found it beautiful and inspiring. The last book I’ve been reading is about classic Western movies, I find learning about films fascinating, almost as much as watching them.

我喜欢Jim Jarmush的上一个电影，叫做Paterson，关于一个公车司机，他也是一名诗人，我觉得片子美好也鼓舞人心。我最近读的一本书是关于经典西方电影，我觉得学习电影很吸引人，就像看电影一样。

which city or region of your country would you like to recommend to China fans?你的国家哪个城市或者地区想推荐给中国乐迷？

The ideal visit to Spain should include at least a few areas, maybe begin with Madrid, the capital city, it has amazing architecture and some of the best museums in the world. Then heading south to Andalucía to visit the stunning beaches in Cadiz, go to see cities like Cordoba, Granada and Seville and from there head north, there are amazing regions to visit, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and The Basque Country with impressive views of the Atlantic Ocean and possibly the best food in the world, the musts are Bilbao and San Sebastian. After that head east to Barcelona, it’s the second biggest city in Spain, it’s in the Mediterranean Ocean, sunny, alive and has a superb modernism architecture rute. A short ride form there starts an unbelievable stretch of coast line called Costa Brava with the most charming coast villages.
