Understanding Our K4 Learning Community 了解我们的K4学习社区
Over the summer our ECE Learning Community extended upstairs into a brand new purpose-designed Learning Community for K4. K4 Teacher, Miss Tilly Asafu-Adjaye, discusses the space.

What is the ECE Learning Community?
什么是幼儿园学习社区？
The Learning Community in ECE is a flexible, open plan space with a central communal play area and classrooms off the side. Classrooms are divided by sliding glass partitions which open onto the communal space and encourage the free flow and movement of children and staff.
幼儿园学习社区是一个灵活的开放式空间，配有公共游乐区和旁边的教室。教室由滑动玻璃隔板分隔，可通向公共空间，我们鼓励儿童和工作人员自由的流动和移动
In what ways does the Learning Community support Early Childhood Education?

Our curriculum is based on the British system Development Matters, which is about establishing an environment for children to learn through play.

The Learning Community is all about supporting learning through play. We are outside of the confines of a traditional classroom and children have the autonomy to choose how they play and learn.

How does the space support our Co-Teaching model?

In the K4 Learning Community, all six teachers (three Chinese and three English-speaking) are on hand to move amongst and interact with the children and share observations with one another. We then use these observations to inform our collaborative planning.
在4岁班学习社区中，所有六名教师（三名中文和三名英文教师）可以随时在孩子中间移动，与他们互动并分享彼此的观察结果。然后，我们利用这些观察结果形成我们的协作计划。
