No Experience or Degree for Work Visa? Try Point-Based System!

Generally, work visa applications require bachelor's degree + 2 years of work experience. If the applicants don't meet these conditions, they can try to apply with the point-based system (evaluate the age, salary, HSK, etc.).

Those with 85 points or more can apply for work visa (Category A); 

Those with 60 points or more can apply for work visa (Category B).

In this article, we will explain the visa application policy of the point-based system, and some successful cases for your reference.

How to Reach 60 Points?

There are 2 common types of people who can apply through the system:

1. Fresh graduates without work experience:

• Annual Salary: 150,000-249,999RMB - 11'
  

• Level of Education: Bachelor - 10' ; Master - 15'
  

• Annual Working Time in China will be:

  9 months per year - 15'
  

• Level of Chinese: up to 5'
  

• Age: 18-25 years old - 10'
  

• Graduated from Globally Recognized Universities: 5'.
  

Note:

As is mentioned, if the applicant has a master's degree and meets the other conditions from above, he/she can score up to 61 points. 

If he/she owns a bachelor's degree, he/she can't apply for a work visa by the point system with only 56 points.

2. Experienced professionals without degrees:

• Annual Salary: 450,000 and above - 20'

• Related work experience: Maximum20'

• Annual Working Time in China will be:

  9 months per year - 15'
  

• Continuously work in China over 5 years: 5'.

Note:

As is mentioned, if the applicant meets the conditions from above, he/she can score up to 60 points. 

If his/her salary under 450,000, he/she can't apply for a work visa by the point system with less than 60 points.
