iffy(adj.)

The intro

(Listening Comprehension)

English is a very scientific language. If something tastes good, then you could describe it as "tasty". If something has a milk like texture, then you could say, " it's milky." The list goes on … Now, even the word "if" could be turned into "iffy".

As you could imagine, a person or a situation with a lot of "ifs" cannot be a good thing. For example, we want to go on a boat trip next Friday, but the weather seems a bit iffy, that means the weather might turn bad on that day. Or, Peter has wanted to get married with Amanda for a very long time, but Amanda seems a bit iffy. What does that mean? That means Peter is gonna suffer from a broken heart soon. If you are still feeling a bit iffy about the usage of "iffy", feel free to contact me directly.
