Hello there, this is Mr.Wong speaking. It's the Mid-Autumn Festival, or what I like to call Mooncake Day! Now before we dive in to our phrase of the day, let's talk mooncakes. My favorite mooncake is the "snowskin" mooncake(冰皮月饼), it's the white mooncakes for those of you who don't know. Here's a fun fact - Snowskin mooncakes are meant to be healthier. Snowskin mooncakes were created in the late 1960s after a demand for "healthier" mooncakes.

People felt that traditional baked mooncake fillings(馅料) like salted duck egg yolk(咸鸭蛋黄) and lotus seed paste(莲蓉), along with the lard(猪油) and sugar syrup(糖浆) used to make the crust(酥皮), made the mooncakes high in sugar and oil. Therefore, the crust(酥皮) was replaced by glutinous rice(糯米), the fillings were replaced with fruit, and the no-bake snowskin mooncake was born. MMmmmmMMm I love them 冰皮 mooncakes! Alright, so the phrase of the day is "a good catch", let's check it out!
