have the guts (to do something)

Definition: To have enough courage, conviction, or resolve (to do something).

有勇气（或信念、决心等）去做某事

gut (n.)

Definition: 

1. The tube through which food passes from your stomach.

消化道；肠道

2. Someone's stomach, especially when it is large.

肚子（尤指大肚子）；肥大的腹部

He's got a huge beer gut. 

他有个大啤酒肚。

3. gut reaction/feeling/instinct 

A reaction or feeling that you are sure is right, although you cannot give a reason for it.

本能反应；本能感觉；直觉

I have a gut feeling that the relationship won't last.

我有种直觉，这段关系不会太长久。

4. The courage and determination you need to do something difficult or unpleasant.

（做困难或不愉快的事情所需的）

勇气；魄力；决心

It takes a lot of guts to admit to so many people that you've made a mistake.

在那么多人面前承认自己犯了错误是需要很大勇气的。
